I wish I could find one of this surprises. I run one of those in my ranger in the summer for boat ramps. I remove it for winter because they're not cool in rwd short wheelbase vehicles unless you like to pull 180s all the time.

That's definitely the messier way to Chex the gear ratio, but you wouldn't have known about the surprise ... was it at least 3.31 or better.? 2.73 cancels out that surprise [emoji6]

Just finished phase one of this project. My new ice fishing sled. Locks, it's light, it pulls 100x easier than those big plastic sleds, and I can sit on it. Just a kobalt tool box, a pressure treated 2x4, 16 bolts, 8 screws and 2 cross country skis. Probably 15 minutes invested so far. Going to add some hooks for my auger, some rod holders, led lighting and who knows what else.

Great work. My father in law Jim would have loved the ingenuity that went into this and he created many things in a similar vein himself. We used to call it "Jimboing".

Restoring a speedo cluster that was white from baking out in West, TX. Accidentally bent the needle a tad.


A little Testors fluorescent orange and a very steady hand. Tried to bend the needle back as best possible.


Remounted with new replacement voltage and oil pressure gauges from George at J&G.
