What's on your Work Bench?

Go-Kart

So, not one of the fancy JEEP go-karts... but still partly Jeep!

The tie-rod is a re-purposed XJ drag link, and the seat (obviously) is an aftermarket CJ fold-n-tumble that I decided not to use in my Scrambler.

I'm hoping that when it's finished, it will be a fun toy for my grand-kids during the summer, and a duck-club buggy for me during the winter.

image.jpgNot on my workbench yet, but I got these today off CL for real cheap. When I got home I found out they are 8 inch also

3 nutty wheels 001.jpg
Nutmeg seems to be the most popular color for steering wheels right now. Probably used on more years and models than any color other than black. The last 3 I sold were nutmeg. So I decided I'd do a few more before stopping this and letting my fingers heal. Some fingers don't want to bend and when they do they do that trigger thing.3 nutty wheels 002.jpg3 nutty wheels 003.jpg
I did a couple of the other type wheels. The first 3 hole per spoke wheel (76-80) went so fast I decided to do another. And then I hadn't done a SL or SR Sport wheel (80-86)so I did one of those.

They are stamped 15x8 on the back with 1981/2 year

image.jpgimage.jpg. CB now I'm really confused. When I got home yesterday I measured the wheel, see attached picture so I just figured the tape showed 8". Anyway the wheel is pretty dirty so it does look like it has 15 X 7 and a couple of other digits I can't read until I can really clean. What has me really wondering is when I line it up with my 84 rim with tire the wheel is 1 inch wider

image.jpg. I realize you can't see the wheel mounted on the tire but the tire is 9 1/2 " and the wheel it is mounted on is way inside that compared to the bare wheel in front

Found a mudflaps, cleaning it up and painting... gonna try some new paint coming later this week... more of a lighter AMC blue, we will see how it goes.
The blue on there is just to start the process and have a good base to work off of

From one workbench on the west coast to one on the east coast (sort of)... don't want them on the actual work bench as there are greasy differential parts on there now.
These came out great and can't wait to get them into the Scrambler, truck when they are done... the CJ7 will receive the black one when it comes out of hibernation for the winter.

Thanks again Kim... great work!
