What's on your Work Bench?

Scramblers and CJs in the 80s mostly used the Laredo or Renegade wheel. CJs in the 70s used the Sport wheel. The YJ wheel is like the Laredo wheel but with the dish being about 3/4" shallower. $325 and $20 shipping to CO. Use your horn parts to complete. I can do black, slate blue, nutmeg, honey (spice), garnet, and the Levi Sand Tan for the 77 to 79 Levi Edition CJs and Wagoneers.

The only comment I have on the skid plate is the hole diameter for water... I think you are gonna need bigger ones... those are about the size of what is in the 20 gallon skid plates and there isn't a single one that I have take apart that isn't full of junk.

Now... that said, this is New England and leaves and mud get together and have a party in there and that is what causes it usually... pine needles, acorns, pine cones, etc... if you don't have a lot of that stuff, you might be good.

Applying thin adhesive backed gasket strips to a lot of what will be bolted or screwed onto the new paint. I'm considering adding strips in between the fenders and tub and the fenders and grille too.

I considered that. It's a closed cell neoprene material so I'm thinking it won't have that problem.

Finally got started on replacing the body bushings, While taking care of as much of the rust as I possible without getting involved in major repair. View attachment 97081

Finally got these OFF my work bench and into my Jeep:

These horns were from my wife's Saab diesel we had back in Australia. When I scraped it I took the horns because they are fantastically loud. I've had them sitting in my parts bin for 10 years..... and I finally installed them.

They work beautifully and they are stunningly loud. My factory horn is now in my parts bin saving the space my Saab horns had.

Fair warning: I'm no Randy when it comes to wiring..... again I briefly thought I was (even bought the same looming he used) until I looked at it upon completion.

Buffed and polished the new paint that we shot back in August. Let me tell you, it's just down right scary watching someone take a sander to new paint. Even when it's someone you completely trust with the job. But the results are outstanding. Can't wait to to get the decals on it. But that's needs to wait until spring.

Finally got the workbenches setup for working on the Jeeps in the right configuration that I am comfortable with.
I have 2 functional workbenches near the lifts now... the OG one that I had in the previous shop and the stainless top on the toolbox.
It is at a slightly higher height that I prefer due to the length of my torso/overall height.

I have 2 other smaller workbenches on the other side of the garage for cleaner work... and packaging up parts to send out.
I did electrical stuff on there the other day... all really works out well.

The workbenches and a new cart really help out getting things more organized and done.
Currently I am cutting up the red Scrambler to salvage parts for the Black one that I picked up over the weekend.
I am also cleaning up a Sun Yellow hood to make one more wall hanger... 77-78 style.



Before anyone gets upset about the red one... she is done... quite done. The rollbar is actually holding it together in the rear... if you pick up a front corner, it tries to fold in half. It really got beat up with the salt and sadly is just too far gone.

Thank you... this one is crumbling when I even take the sawzall out... I got the back half off with very little effort.
I did save a few pieces, but not much... rollbar will be out tonight and the rest should also crumble. The carpet is holding that floor together.
