Let me start this out by giving a huge thanks to Tommy and his wife. The two were so patient while I was looking the jeep over and talking to my wife to be 100% sure I was making the right decision.

So, I was bit by the Srcambler bug when a coworker had one as a hunting vehicle around 2005. I had never consciously seen one or known about them before that. I was then on the hunt for one after that. Found one in 2009 and bought it. Then, I was bit again when I saw posts about Jeff Scherb's "world cab" equiped scrambler. That started me down the "must have an overlander" path. Deluke's recent import just doubled my determination to get one.

Well, I was very lucky and now I have an Overlander.

You’re welcome and I hope you enjoy it. You are part of a very special club now. With the baby only days away I would probably never give this Jeep the love it deserves. Plus you caught me on a good day, LOL. It’s easy to enjoy it so enjoy it.

I can't say thanks enough. I just need to get the one in the garage done ASAP so I can get started on this one! I have a feeling that this one will get all the attention now. (Is it fair to have favorites? I mean, parents love all their children just as much, right?)

Tommy deserves all the credit. He was the one that did all the hard work getting it here.

I've seen this one in person. I just love the slate blue on white. A very special club indeed. I believe there are less than 5-8 original Overlanders left ON THE PLANET. You could move that number a little more to the right...with ones that have lost their tops or being restored but not by much. Truly one of the holy grails of scramblers yet I always say, so dumb that AMC didn't sell that top here. Congrats !

If they had sold them stateside, would they be considered special though?

I cant figure out why I don't really like hard cab jeeps, but love the world cab? I love the open air feeling of a jeep, but the world cab just triggers an emotion for me.

By far the most seller's remorse yet! I mean come on "less than 5-8 original Overlanders left ON THE PLANET." !!
Once again, things that could have been brought to my attention YESTERDAY!! Sorry had to quote the Wedding Singer with Adam Sandler.
Anyway, its in a better place now. I still have a complete top and doors that I plan on incorporating into my 84 SL build if it ever get some steam again on that thing. Definitely sobering walking in the warehouse and not seeing my OV parked out there though.

Need to convince Raymond to come over for a build party. When you schedule it, let me know. I’ll bring my tools to chip in and help.

Hard to compare then to now 30 plus years later, but I'm smelling what your stepping in..

It's that rear quarter view that gets me going. And for that reason you probably photographed yours that way too :)

The higher roofline and barn door is just so damn good looking. And functional !!

Is my boat still there ?

I love the look of this one with the white and slate blue as well. Great combo. Deserves to be restored!
