Wow, I can't belive it happened.

Those both look like south american market wagons, wrong turn signals for UK & AUS.

The South American CJ's I've seen have been left hand drive. Plus, there's that language thing. Poster or brochure would be in Spanish (or Portuguese for Brazil). I'm guessing UK but then again immobilize might be spelled with a "s" rather than a "z". This is tough one.

I bought it from Oz but who knows:shrug:. I cant imagine some had striped wheels and some didn't but then again it was AMC :usflag:

Why restore? that thing has great patina and of course, only original once
I vote for fixing it correctly, for people in the distant future to see what was possible back in the eighties. The other thing is it isn't my money. :). Anyway it's a fine specimen and we all wish it was ours. Great score !

Robert - Do your wheels look original paint? I notice that all of them do not have the black pinstripe. My wheels have been repainted and also do not have a stripe. However, my spare has the black pinstripe, but I have not checked the date. The tires shown on the Overlander brochure also do not have pinstripes. Jersey and I have been wondering what is correct although we both agree the pinstriped wheels look better.

I'd say, unless Australia uses color matched wheel weights, the rims have been repainted at some point.

I would love to keep it original, but there is some rust that must be addressed. The entire cowl will need replacement as the 2 triangles on each side are rusted thru. If that was it, I would get the patches from Toby and fix, but at the driver side hood hinge there is rust perforation thru and it will need to be fixed.

.

Bit late now for me - but what does this mean? "I would get the patches from Toby"

How did you shoe horn that thing out of the shop and is there a video? Preferably with audio ?

There is a lot of variation across Overlanders in Australia. I have seen both pin stripped on non pin stripped original wheels. Below is a shot of a couple of brand new Overlanders and you can see the red one doesn't have the hood graphics.

Man I love that red. That’s what I will be shooting for with my 84 SL But with regular SL graphics on the body and create something similar to the roof graphics

20 hours straight spent the weekend before “reorganizing” the warehouse. Everything is a breeze in there now

Those jeeps really look sharp! Kind of like a (blasphemy) 2 door G wagon. It is a shame they didn't sell them here.

No Boo you were here too! Actually you're the reason for the reorganization. I was happy waiting for the Hoarders buried alive film crew to arrive. :bacon::bow:. But for real without Spanky the Overlander would still be shoe horned in there. Thanks Ray Ray!:banghead:
