New Jeep Ad

better than others before

not bad... Way better than those horid ones from earlier in year that didn't even hardly have any visuals of the product they were trying to sell...

at least they got smart and played off the american icon theme and patriotism...

I am not hating it either. I am very interested in how the new 6 cylinder engine is going to be received. It looks great on paper. I wonder what the mix of 3.6 vs Hemi is going to be on the top end models. Sam & I both have WJ Overlands with the 4.7 HO. They really scoot. The new 6 has 30 more horses and about the same torque. We are saving for a 2012 GC Overland, to be purchased in, oh, roughly 2018-2020. That's our usual timing. Haven't bought anything new since 1990. By then, gas will probably be $8 a gallon. The thrifty six may look pretty good then.

A-FREAKING-MEN!!

Finally someone got their head out of their @ss and realized they needed ads worthy of their product!

I CAN'T WAIT to see this translate into a Wrangler ad now!!!

I liked the idea of it, wish they had done it with something that looked more like a Jeep. The whole Grand Cherokee thing seems to be focused on guys in suits and soccer moms. It would have been great if it had a low priced wrangler at the end, probably would reach more people.

That's a Grand Cherokee ad though and they worked in that much Jeep heritage, that's exactly why I want to see the Wrangler version.

The Patriot and Compass should not get any ads.

I bet they could sell 100 Wranglers for every 1 Grand Cherokee in this economy.

its alright.. but i prefer the funny comercials that Jeep used to have... like the guy who drive onto his roof in a snow storm to fix his satilite dish..
The funny ones are more memorable.

2 thumbs up on that one. They even got it dirty!

To be honest, I didn't really look at the Grand in the ad when I watched this. Saw a couple today at a dealer's Jeep show and I have to say  It's an overgrown Compass with Toyota rims. Pathetic. I'm not sure how they managed those few "offroad" shots, the front air dam comes down and can't leave but 8" or so of ground clearance immediately in front of the front tires... it's freaking sad.

Commercial does a great job of not showing that off as much though. I had no idea until I saw it today.

Agreed. They seem not to know that the Wrangler is so unique. They're still heading down that path of competing for the soccer mom SUV market. If they would just freakin OPEN THEIR EYES!!!:banghead:

But we can chop, cut, mold, bend and lift it :D

You can try, I'd sure like to watch.

Lately I've had a new dream, to take one of every model Jeep that was ever produced and build something awesome from each one.

With this thing, I think it would be a challenge, would have to start with SAS front and rear, maybe an atlas in the middle and then you have some potential...

This ad makes me happy.

It makes me happy - not because I believe Jeep is actually making better cars and trucks. It makes me happy because it has even you guys excited. See... I'm a marketing guy. I make my money making people believe. Glad to know it still works. ;) Hell, you guys got excited watching a leathered-up street truck on 30 series tires slip around in the woods! Really? I did like the music... very authoritative... very compelling. ;)

For me, that ad would've been perfect if it ended with "... and we're having the guys at Ford build it". Ford has gotten their act together (big) while GM and Chrysler - especially Chrysler - continues to build crap. Okay, they're better than Land Rover. But a new Jeep. No way. Been there - hated that.

Ah, true, but it's all relative. If the recent Jeep commercials were up to snuff, we wouldn't be the least bit impressed with this ad.

I'm not AT ALL excited about the product and the ad does zero to change that, but it's nice to see Jeep getting back to something sensible in it's marketing programs. I just want to see the similar themed ads for the Wrangler and (God willing) their aftermarket lines...

I think the Commander has some real potential to be cool...saw one here local with a mild lift and some 35"ish tires...looked great.

Here's a pic from our friend, Google..

Exactly, that same picture is the one that got me started thinking about it. There's a couple Liberty's that are similarly built (one with a SAS) that showed promise too.

Isn't that the old Artice Expedition vehicle from AEV. If it is that one then those are actually much bigger than 37's.

From the build that one had something like 42's on 17" rims. Did really well on the snow.
