Been a while since we had a Beer thread...

Well this day went to poop in a hurry thanks to the sister-in-law. Long story short and the coup de gras was she blew the motor up on my wife's '47 Chevy pickup while she was borrowing it. Now it sits on the side of the road until I can go get it tomorrow sometime. So much for a relaxing weekend! I go back to work on Monday.
So I cracked open another beer! Widmer Brothers Brewing Hefe from Portland, OR

Had this with the most perfectly cooked filet mignon I have ever cooked on the grill. Those puppies were at least an inch and a half thick. Beautiful rare on mine with nothing more than salt and pepper. Awesome.

Beer is one of my favorites too. Great dinner!

Also had a Stone last night. This one hit the spot while cooking brats after a 15 mile bike ride.

Last night I had my first brew from Magic Hat Brewing out of Vermont. I must say it was superb! It was Seance and is an excellent dark beer. I can't wait to try their Dead Veil Amber next!

I tried the Magic Hat Dead Veil last night. Good Amber beer but I didn't like it as much as the Seance. I will have to see if I can get some of the No. 9 and give it a try.

Do they even have IPA in the UK? ;)

I think you will find it was the English who invented the stuff :D

Yes you can buy it but its nowhere near as popular as Lager or Cider and most likely being supped by a man with a beard who takes his ale very seriously....

Yummy Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout. A Russian co-worker of mine gave me a 4 pack today.

You are a man with good tastes Josh.

By the way, anyone using the Untappd app? I am on there. It would be nice to see if my Scramblin' beer drinkin' friends are using it as well. If so connect and let me know.

I use the "find craft beer ap". It's powered by beermapping.com which is also a great site for your PC browsing before a road trip. With the FCB ap u can do a radius search and find beer bars breweries beer stores etc point, load map and drive.

Coconut IPA??? Where's the puke icon? About the only other thing you could put in a beer that I'd like less is pineapple.

:rotfl:

Untappd???!!??? How did I not know about that and how didn't it come up on here before? I'm all about some of that! I'll be getting it today.

On the beer front, I'm using our bus to haul a bunch of our neighbors to the tailgate before the UM - Notre Dame game today and I was in charge of beer  I need to take a picture of the slam-full beer fridge all Michigan microbrews ;) Liberty, Arcadia, Founders, Bells, Wolverine, and more
