I'm postponing the test run till I change that rear yoke to U-bolts.

Yep, I would hate to see what could happen to Stump Jumper if it broke at 6,500 rpm's.
 
How did someone spot that ZR's were suspect? Were they stressed in a picture i missed?

As much time as I spent on detail building Stump Jumper I just missed the obvious with the strapped yoke instead of the u-bolt yoke.
The straps are not stressed as yet, but I am stressed thinking about what could happen.

Yeah that would be a little scary at 6,500 rpm going down the highway and sitting just about that drive shaft 😱😱
 
The picture I showed happened behind a supercharged Ford 5.0 with a power-shift from 1st to 2nd at 6k.
I'll see if I can find pictures of the rest; swipe-shaped dent in bed floor support, smashed e-brake cable center bracket flat (not sure how it didn't break the cable), dent in one muffler and poked a hole in the other.

When I put in new driveshafts I said "I'll put these new hardened bolts in for now, but I need to change those straps out soon". Not soon enough... Stump jumper is way prettier underneath than mine too.

Everything is fine on my Stump Jumper but I don't want to take any chances so I'm switching to the U-bolt yoke. Shifting a 6,500 RPM's with almost 400 HP I'm not taking any chances. I've actually had it revved to 7,200 on one occasion. I really need to set the shifting points to 6,200 because that's where it seems to quit pulling. 7,200 produces a huge pucker factor if you know what I mean.
 
I used to have a 425hp 327 small block that pulled hard up to 7500 rpm in my CJ5 and it was an experience for sure.
 
I switched the rear yoke with straps to one with u-bolts today. Feeling better now.
 
The U-bolts will break, too :twocents:

With that much power, a drive shaft loop is needed :twocents:
