As much as I want to relive my flava gave days no
True story, he was on a flight with me last fall from KC to Phoenix. He was wearing a "Flava Flav" hat and carrying a small boom box onto the plane, traveling coach. I think he had a show the next day in Vegas or something.

Getting ready for the next wall hanger... slowly acquiring the parts/pieces needed and fixing the bent/broken stuff.

So essentially a New England edition CJ with beatup Commando wings.

I will put a badge on it and some amber lights on the top and cover upt the CJ ones.
I think it will have a nice look to it.

I am finding it difficult to map "New England" to a grille though... Maine hangs so much up higher to the right.
And it is amazing how small RI is with Mass wrapping around it.

And so it begins...

Trying to lay out an odd shape of New England on the grille wasn't pretty, but I think it gets the appropriate dimensions for what it is.

Making slow progress... a lot harder to shape these vs. one that has all the same plates...and wanting to get the state names in there.

Not much progress, yardwork and getting ready for back to school has taken precedence... on a positive side, I sold some parts too!

CT/RI/MA all done, next up NH and onto ME/VT afterwards.
It is coming along, it will take shape more once the "greens" come into play... RI is so small in comparison to New England as a whole that it really gets washed out, so I wanted to show at least the name so people see it.

Not on my work bench, but just off work horses. Took the cap off my 07 Duramax and kept it for my 19 LD. It was silver, but had to paint it Black. Off to Tractor Supply for some $33 black with hardener. Came out pretty good for painting under a lean to at the back of the barn. But the little green bugs smelled fresh paint. Hey $33 vs $2400 for a new one,. No brainier for me.

I had a custom dash cut by Double D Fabricators. It't time to start putting everything together.Dash.jpg

I thought I would have finished it over the long weekend, but still have a bit to go.

It is coming along, the VT plates are a bit different and harder to shape, and I am missing one plate that I need to get, but all in all, most of the work is done... need to wire it up.

Are the VT plates still that old school rigid aluminum (or even steel?). I'm thinking about making something like this for my builder, for being such a pain in his butt. AZ has some rigid copper antique plates I might use.

Finally got around to adding a winch to my trailer. Used it this morning. Why did I wait so long.

Or
Love those wheels. I bought a set off Ebay about a year ago that I need to clean and polish. I'd be thrilled if they came out anywhere near that nice.
