I bolted the back on fo the cab on and hung a door and I think we are getting closer... so I moved onto the transmission tunnel.
It was so far off and if I was to fix it, it probably would take longer than just using the piece I had from an old tub and grafting it in.

I got all the cuts made and now it is ready for welding in... BUT... I had to pack up a Fedex run, so that took the rest of the evening (dinner too)... so tonight, one more thing to pack up and back to it.

Forgot I also got the body mounts cut down and in the right spot for the driver side on Friday night.

The door opening definitely took a wack as some point, there is evidence of maybe the door was open and they ran into something... but I should be able to work with it.

Old meets new... I need a few more clamps ;)

The second picture is after more adjusting of the metal... it can be tacked in now and this way there is an OEM style opening and OEM metal to make me feel better about using the aftermarket floor which is ok... but needed a lot of tweaking on the underside for the seat belt mounts and roll bar mounts and transmission tunnel.

One last time I hope... putting the body back on the chassis to make sure all line up... by trying to get the belt line even on both sides with lowering the mounting brackets, I noticed that the cab part actually kicks up a tiny bit... which is fine I guess as they are brothers from different mothers.

So, the other thing to make sure is the cage... my guess is now I am 1/2" low on the driver side and have to adjust that.

I am just too picky... and a PITA as well. But this will save a lot of time later down the road.

Once I am happy with this, I am going to tackle the door situation.

The repaired back section is nice now and symmetrical and a good distance from the bed and at the same height... tub is not bolted down tight tight, just bolted in place until I get the fenders on and that will set where it goes.

Overall glamour shot:

That's it for now.

Definitely going to be the brother of no other. Looking good, and really looking forward to seeing it after final paint

Cage is back in and adjusted, the doors I tried to get adjusted up for the openeings and used the YJ ones just to get a feel... they open/shut pretty nicely. The back gap on the driver side is still bugging me, but figured out the top windshield hinge was pulled out a bit so adjusted that with the BFH as I am sure the wind took the doors at some point in its life and stretched it beyond its operating range.

So, this has been good progress, have to weld up that cage next, but started a custom art project, so I have to complete that first .

They definitely are getting there... a bit more tweaking on the driver side and I will say the tub is level and in the right shape to make me happy.
Those half doors and bikini top will be a pretty nice summer setup.

I was starting to work on the rocker trim the other day and the little one walked in and was like... "what are you doing?" So I explained how I had to piece them together to make a whole strip that would fit... she then asked where the "spider" would be.

Apparently I had forgotten that this was her truck and she wanted the same sides as what I have on the CJ7.
So, had to dig out her "spiders" and get them ready to be fit up.

I had forgotten all about this design element... I like them, that isn't the issue, but I forgot I told her that we wold do this, in my head we were going original side steps and rocker trim. This will save time in having to have the rocker trim welded up (aluminum), but the mount locations for the body mounts have moved and these are for a CJ7, so now I have to modified how they will tie into the mounts... so that is up next on the list of things to do.

Aside from that, I started to lay out some artwork... I need a break from fab, so art work will take over for a few days.

Trying a new flat reflective style, but I am a few short... found some online and ordered them up so I can finish it up.

So, that is it for now... more when I get some parts/pieces in.

I have to ship out a few things as well, so there is always something to do.

Selective memory. Like trying to get them not to turn every light on in the house, then never turning any light off ever. Or never getting the towel hung up. Kids ! :)

Maybe she would go for a spider painted on the truck instead, and you could keep your all-Jeep-parts theme you've got going. Might even put the spider in a web. It's going to look good either way you go.

Not much to report... finishing up art projects and such and trying to heal/get better.

I did mock in place one side... a little short on the back part of it.. will have to cut and make a filler piece, don't like how that looks.
