Just like this, I thought I mounted these right, now I'm second guessing the position of the flares. They are aluminum and my buddy welded them for me after I marked them up. Now I wonder if I should cut them off and position them lower? I was trying to stay high and towards the rear in case I ever cut the opening bigger. Now I wonder if I screwed that up?
I do not know if this helps but I just happen to have the wheel flares off my jeep at the moment and they are the original plastic/rubber ones. The clean lines that you see are where the mounting holes were for the original flares. The holes were very close to the edge. Whatever you decide to do it will look great. Keep up the good work and send more pics so we can enjoy. Best

Update. Brakes a bled but only after taking a bath in brake fluid. Massive air bubble in the back that I couldn’t get out with bleeding them. Had to crack open a rear line to get it out.
New problem that I shouldn’t have is it is not running right. Ran fine when we pulled it down. It surges at idle and eventually dies plus it doesn’t want to start. I feel like its a fuel issue and have checked everything up to the throttle body. I’ll rebuild the throttle body tomorrow and see what happens.

Looking awesome, You are brave, I think I would have done the cage before paint! Knowing my luck, I would have scratched it with the cage or welding.

Been having issues with the old gm 4.3 junkyard fuel injection. Worked perfect when it came apart, but for some unknown reason it doesn’t want to work right since I put everything back together. Spent a bunch of time on it and I’m done with it. So out with the old and in with the new tech.

What are you using for the power source?

I'm sorry, I don't follow what you are asking? "Power source"?

I'm using a Walbro 255 inline fuel pump mounted to the side of the frame. It gets 12 volts power from the relay in the Holley sniper wiring harness. The Holley sniper wiring harness sends power to the relay from the battery in the engine compartment when you turn the key on...

If this doesn't answer your question please message me.

The Holley sniper has a “built-in” fuel pump relay to feed the high current draw of a pump.

Agreed, but this is where I'm stumbling.

Again message me...

So now that we know what you are asking and partially what you are working with. Painless wiring and holley sniper kit.
What ignition system do you have? stock, hei?

The coil wire positive wire will work, also check the red power wire on the starter relay. I believe this wire is also powered while cranking. I asked about the ignition system because if you have the stock ignition box on the drivers side fender the red 10 gauge wire going to it will also give you power while cranking.

Holley instructions say that, but all the red wires that are key on start on are combined at multiple multi taps. I am not sure if tapping directly to the starter relay would create too much ripple current. I wonder if they say not to do that for applications that are starter/relay integrated, but I doubt that since this is for bbd carb replacements on Jeeps.

My FiTech was certainly easier to install. I'm just hoping the Holley will more reliable.

No disrespect, but chamba I believe you have another thread on the forum that pertains to this issue you and ag4ever keep referencing.

When I power the sniper kit in my sisters Jeep I will let you know on that thread what wire I tied into for 12v start and crank.

The Holley manual says it needs power which is switched on for run and crank. I'm just having trouble finding a power source other than the coil power which provides this. Before I put the painless harness in i used the choke power, but now that cures off during crank.

Sorry to sideline you, I was just hoping you'd found that secret wire i needed.
Does the Painless have one of these.

>:(:cautious:

I would not know b/c the Jeep that this particular thread is about does not have a Painless harness in it....

Come on guys its not that hard, he has another thread started on the forum about this.
No need to duplicate information or clog up my thread please.

Sorry for the :hijack:.

In my defense, I did not see your post for the redirect, nor the other thread until after I posted. (It took that long to find and post the info)
Carry on.
