There are several pieces between the tbi and the transmission. The engine parts I got off of a Waggy with a TF727, this piece connects to the stock 258/999 linkage and bolts to the back of the engine block. I have no way of getting a picture of it with the body on the Jeep.

Thank you John. I'll figure it out from there.

Been working on the tub the last month or so. Replaced some panels, did some body work, lots of primer, and yesterday I painted the body Olympic White. Today I sprayed the Raptor liner . . . also Olympic White. This was a body that was on a car that was totaled and then a tree limb had fallen on it just to make sure it was twisted and crunched. I have a canvas covered area where I built a pipe framework for lifting the body for working on it and for going back on the chassis without the need for a crew for help. Just need to finish painting the underside and it's ready to go on the chassis.

Thanks for the kind comments. Just came in from painting the underside of the tub. Bolted my brackets on, hoisted it up, pulled the saw horses out, and finished spraying the underside white. Now it's ready to go on the chassis. A note about Raptor Liner. This stuff is great. It doesn't come with detailed instructions. Just mix, shake, and spray. 60 psi worked for me. To tint the Raptor, you can use single stage acrylic enamel. I used the same paint as I used on the body for the tint. Thanks Randy and the others that recommended Raptor.

Got the body on the frame. Roll bar and divider painted and in. Working on fenders, tailgate and other small parts. Happy to finally have the body inside the garage for the first time. Now that the body is in, I can use my spray area for the rest of the parts. Everything white is like a blank canvas until it gets the blue decals and blue interior. Until then, it looks kind of ho hum.

Working on things as I can. Once I got the new brake unit it took 3 weeks for them to send me the missing push rod. Got the dash and under dash wiring harness in. Steering all connected up. You can see the new vapor canister with only two ports to go with my TBI setup. It's about the same size as the original vapor canister. Waiting for my neighbor to weld up my throttle linkage bracket so the stock cable will work. The kick down linkage should be a pain to figure out and make up. That driver side fender isn't going on until that is done. . .no access from underneath. Tail gate, lights and some brackets give a little contrast to the white paint.

If you dont already know then just be wary of the 999s throttle rod (it isn't just a simple kickdown linkage) the 999 auto needs that to work properly and should share the throttles full range of movement or it will cause issues and can even burn the clutches out.
Plenty of information out there about it if you search, carry on the good work its looking great!.

I've got one piece of the kick down linkage that has the wire that slides over a pin. If there is something critical to the way I have to make this work, I'd like to know. Thanks.

The 999, 904, 727, et transmission line does not use a “kick-down” throttle rod per se. They use a throttle valve rod that continuously adjusts line pressure in the transmission based on throttle position. Without the rod connected and adjusted correctly, you will have either way too little or way too much line pressure applying the clutch bands. This will cause catastrophic failure and fast.

These 2 books should tell you everything you need to know:

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I used to rely on my dad for mechanical help. He passed 24 years ago. Now you guys on this site help me out when I need it. Thanks to you all.

No problem didn't want to see you kill the auto on the first run out!
Parts manual isn't exactly clear but this is how the factory did it on the V8s, looks mechanically very complicated up to the straight 6 version but may give you some ideas..
