Chamba what length are your links set at, and are they a pain to reattach ? I need some longer ones, and i bought some but they were not long enough, so i'm thinking of getting someone to lengthen them. Always heard they are somewhat a pain to put back.
I'll measure and let you know. They are a bit of a pain but the key is to do both sides at once and then push the sway bar upward to disconnect.

12"

Question 23:
Setting springs and research mention 9/16"×4.5" bolt 8 grade. All I can find local are 4or 5 inches.
Will a 1/2" x4.5" bolt work?

On sway bars had one on the CJ8, drove it a few time both ways, took the whole sway off completely. Never could tell any difference.

I believe you need the 9/16 to eliminate all slop in the spring bushings. I’d get the 5” and ignore the extra 1/2” length.

I have a low price die set from Harbor Freight. Do you think it will cut more threads down on grade 8 bolt ? Don't think there are enough threads on 5" bolt.

Problem isn't the hardness of the bolts. It is the diameter of the unthreated portion of the bolt. Roll formed bolts have a larger diameter that will not allow the continuation of cutting threads.

Ummmph!
I'll just wait and order the correct bolts. No progress this week

Depending on how much too long the unthreaded portion is, a thick washer under the head and under the nut never hurt anything, and might make up the distance you need.

I might have a set of 4 of the bolts you need. But it would probably take just as long to get new ones the way the mail is going right now. I’ll check later to see-

I'm good, thanks for offer. Just had a few days off and wanted to use it on Jeep. I order the bolts and wait till after holidays

Not so easy to order, sold out.. Through my searches I found that the "leaf spring bolt" is commonly used on GM and Dodge trucks. So I checked with O'Reilly parts house, looked up 1995 Chevrolet 1500 pickup with the 5.7. Hoping to order through them today.

Husky #SHB 91645 FAS which is a 9/16x4.5 leaf spring bolt

I found leaf spring u bolts at my local trailer dealer/supply place. Much cheaper than parts store.

Found the bolts. At least what I think are the right ones. They are 9/16” x 4 1/4”. Let me know if you need some. CE21BAFA-7A97-49BF-A51B-01089CA43074.jpeg

Thanks, I will check that out. I got on Flat Fenders email list, but when they ask for payment I could not link to payment page. Then forgot about it. Maybe next issue
Liking the looks of the flat fenders, now I'm having daydreams of modifications to old frame and running gear of my current 8. I will have all left over when I switch over to new used frame and drivetrain
