I saw this on Facebook and thought it would be fun to see how our Scramblers have changed over the years. I’m not concerned about exactly 10 years. This is more about what your 8 looked like when bought vs its current state. I know there are even a few original owners among us.

Here is the first picture I have of my 8.

I bought my Scrambler in 1983 new I can't find a picture that old of it so the oldest I can find is 1999 with the 2nd place trophy I won at All For Fun in 1999.

And the later picture of it all in one piece is about 3 or 4 years old. Some where around 1986 I hit an Elk at about 50mph, I had it custom painted after the encounter. That is why it looks like it does. If I knew then what I know now I would had it put back original.

I still have the bulkhead and half top so I can make it look more original if I want.

I can’t find the original pics I took in 2010 when I picked up my Scrambler. So I tried to find some on Facebook.

Right after I bought it from Toby/drove it back to MS from Indiana, early January 2010:

12 years, 58,000+/- miles since I rebuilt it, lots of great times/memories/friendships over that time

This is what my 1981 Scrambler looked like when I bought it in 1987

Although it looked good when I bought it back, they did a crummy job. They did the body work right over the rust, it rusted back through within a year.

Now it's completely taken apart and I'm in the process of doing a complete restore.

It looks so sad in that barn. But fantastic history that you have with it and that you're now making it better than it probably ever was. Awesome 👍

I made this for the challenge on FB. 2002 picture is from the AlCan highway just south of Tok with my brother the day we started back south after I fixed it up in Anchorage after buying it, on the way to NC. 5531 miles later I got it home.

2012 is with my Bantam trailer pre camping build and 2022 is actually at the 2021 National, but it’s exactly how things are right now, so deal with it. :smokin:

I’ll play. I brought mine home in 2014 if my memory is correct. We had to assemble a pile of parts at the sellers house. Frame, axles, body parts were all laying in various piles. Anyways- here’s where I finally towed it from the storage unit to my house, about 6 months after getting it. To be honest, I’ve taken the past couple months off to avoid “project burnout”, but after moving the shop around, I’m going to get back to it. There’s a car show at the end of April that I’d love to introduce her at.59389C02-3C7C-4060-8B8C-60A429FF72A9.jpeg
