Alaskan Postal Scrambler/World Cab - count/registry - help build the list

We have a new one, in really bad shape. Popped up on a FB group at a junkyard in Oregon. Trying to get more info.

As you pointed out @bigwalton the rust at the windshield hinge and cowl is amazing. And I use the term amazing with multiple feelings.

That's awesome... I can't wait to see it come together!

Thanks everyone! I’ll probably start a build thread in a couple of days. I was actually hoping someone with experience doing this could give me some insight. The main thing I’m worried about right now is steering linkage. I can’t find any parts specifically for RHD, and can’t find any info about whether or not normal LHD drag link and tie rods would work after tons of google searches and reading through forums. Any help would be great!

I’ve got you on this. I had to rebuild mine. It’s all out there just not all in one place. Give me a couple days and I’ll put it all together for ya - for everyone

This thread is getting long and complicated to review, but we have another that came up for sale here on the forum in TN.

VIN: 1jcce88f0et019819

IMPORTANT NOTE: the reference to "One of 50 survivors" is utter BS and that's why I crossed it out and edited the color. This thread right here is the only thing that comes close to being able to generate that number and it would appear that he's taken that number from one of my own posts in it where I mentioned that number specifically saying: "as a guess".

I think that the way that he presented it in this ad is borderline criminal, for the record.

"This is a rare 1984 Alaskan Mail Jeep. One of 50 survivors [bigwalton edit] from Alaska. I got this jeep to be a project when I was working as an RCA for USPS. I have too many projects so this one has to find a new home. New =Weber Carburetor =Sheet metal panels =Fuel Pump =Sending Unit =Head\Tailights =Period Correct Axles =Seatbelts =Mail Tray =Carpet =Rehupolstered Headliner =Gauges =Battery =4 extra tires =Painless Wiring Harness = Powder-coated dash, divider plate, and bumperettes. =Comes with all-new weather stripping Still needs to have the axles finished, the wiring is only half installed so it needs to be trailered. Engine is solid, with 135 psi in every cylinder. I was in the process of getting an HEI Distributer because the old computer distributer went out. New door panels are coming for it this week to finish out the inteior. Most of the foam in the rear area was removed. Overall a great project for any carriers out there, or anyone that wants to own a rare jeep. Also comes with extra patch panels. Would be willing to trade for an indian scout OBO"

Did you post a link to this thread?

I have this feeling that it's one of the ones that the top got separated for some reason.

Maybe this one from the no-top list, pretty sure it was in FL and was a complete rebuild?
3. Michael Farino's blue surf-themed postal that's up for sale and the one that made me start this list. The top/doors off of this one went on Andrew Schalk's Postal that didn't have them at the time and he sold the Jeep to Michael, who put a lot of work into restomodding it to what it is now.
