Alaskan Postal Scrambler/World Cab - count/registry - help build the list

Did postals have a spare tire on the roll bar? Both of mine still have the black plastic plugs in the holes for the mount but I remember seeing one with a spare tire on the roll bar Also, both of my front bumpers have fog light brackets on them. I’ve seen other postals with them as well. I suppose lights were an option?

Mine has the fog light brackets also along with the plugs in the roll bar mounts. I would like to know where they sourced the transmission shifter?
Shifter is a part out of one of the AMC cars, i think its the Hornet off the top of my head but could be wrong.
Whichever one it was must of had the TF auto in a very similar set up i guess?

Correct - shifter was from the car line. You can find them fairly easily on Ebay and some AMC car forums believe it or not.

On the one I was building I put a spare on the roll bar if that's the one you are thinking about. To my knowledge they did not come on the roll bar from the factory. I honestly don't think they shipped with a spare tire but I could very well be wrong.

I agree with this, I've never seen one with the spare mount and IIRC, mine also had the plastic caps in the holes that I removed when I used one for a Hi-lift mount.

On the fog lights, the workers who used the Jeeps did all kinds of mods themselves. I don't know that we'll ever really know exactly what they shipped from the factory with. I highly doubt that there was any differences on any of them stock for an order of 230.

Looks like the Postal shown previously in this thread didn't sell on BaT. For posterity, here is the classified from their website:

CB is so lame they don't even know that the foam is actually stock and valuable to have in there because it proves the top has never been off.

I hate that place... ripoff artists.

I have to question how an Alaskan Postal could average ~22 miles daily on a mail route.
Maybe the Postmaster driving back and forth to the Post Office.

Maybe it was 11 mpg going up and out to deliver, and 0 coming back coasting downhill coming back to base.

This was not unusual, many of the rural routes were TINY. Mine had less than that when I got it and I've heard of a lot of them having very low miles. These routes were not long-range and mostly in tiny towns.

Mine had done 67K by 2017 - although by the wear on the engine and transmission i wonder if it had gone round twice.

Due to what it is and its rarity this really needs to be on one of those sales pitch coffee walk thingys , unfortunately as it has very little profit in it i doubt it will happen.
Does say worldwide shipping though

I just hope it ends up in a good home and is what they say it is. They’re con artists so I’d be very leery and am afraid someone will seriously overpay, but as long as they are happy with the Jeep.

I know two people who traveled to buy scramblers from them and both got bait and switched with the Jeep fully misrepresented and they resented the whole experience.

With what it is $12k is not terribly off the mark.

Regarding CB, while I think they are all sales pitch, they do help in their own way. Heck, I have bought some better quality used and NOS parts from them.

I know some people that have them service their jeeps, and they are happy.

Like everything in life, caveat emptor.

Ran across this one on FB Market Place

It's got the mail tray "bulkhead"! And I like how they have the bikini top on under the world cab. Sad it doesn't have the rear door. Frame looks as good as most do, for what you can see...
