Shop addition 30' x 40' - Adams Family Scrambler World HQ

Still plugging away.
Clif's doctor has released him to some light duty action after the disc replacement in his neck.
So he have been easing back into some action.

Decided to go ahead and remove the remaining metal to make wiring a bit easier.

Might I suggest Lift Master door openers. They work off the Jack shaft (no chains or belts). U can operate them from ur phone. Got 3 on my barn.

I second TIMMAY!!! I have them on my current doors and they are awesome. You don't lose any head room either. I'm pretty sure they only draw 1amp too.
 
I need to put one on one of my doors. Tanks for recommendations! been trying to figure out what to use. The door in the background is the one I am talking about . Have a standard overhead chain drive on the other taller door you can see to the side.

Another vote for Liftmaster. Had one put on the main door at the shop and love it.
 
I had planned on using jackshaft style openers for our doors.

Going to try the Menards Masterforce® Wall Mount Smart Garage Door Opener With Battery Backup on the Quonset garage door.
If we like it we will use the same for the shop addition doors.

What model are you using and what size is your door? L x W x H x thickness (no italics here, just questions)

Why not sprayfoam it? You've got it this far skinned. Long term it is the best, most cost saving way. I was skeptical when I foamed my house and garage - no more lad. Right now here in NC my attic is 71*, the house 72* and my units are off more than they're on. Most immediate benefits were no more insects and I got to clean all of the RubberMaid totes out of the shop and move them to the "conditioned" attic space!

This last weekend was bust for me, as I woke up sick Saturday morning. Didn't leave the house until this morning to head to work.

Idk how the text got italicized b4 nor do I know it was till someone pointed it out. Anyway, my biggest door is 14’ tall by 12’ wide & 2” thick (insulated). I also have a smaller door 7’ X 6’, 2” thick (insulated) & another 10’ X 9’, 1 ½ “ thick (insulated). All r lifted with Liftmaster 8500W motors
 
Been awhile since any progress with the shop addition.
Maybe a little burn out, sickness and other projects got in the way, just life in general.
But we are back on it now.

Mini Split's installation. Can't get them going fast enough, we've been in a heck of a heat wave in SE Kansas.

Since we had 2 x 6 walls, decided to run our lines sets, drain hose and control wires in the wall.
Makes for a much nicer install not seeing that on the outside of the building.

Got vacuum pulled on one unit, all that's left on it is to hook main wire to breaker box.
Hopefully a couple evenings will have the other one ready to go.
