The CJ-8 frame is a lot wimpier than the CJ-7 frame at the back due to the way they extended the base CJ-7 frame for the 8. Suggest to add some reinforcement to the mount points or add material forward of the hitch.
I added this hitch - but had to modify the sides to get the forward tie ins to work.
I put a new proportioning valve on when I rebuilt mine a few years ago, and had nothing but trouble with the brake warning light staying on. Bled the thing a dozen times - tried the tool shown above and also the factory style tool for the front piston, no joy. So eventually i took the new PV off...
I think there's another in the column, you have to pull the lever towards you to change from park etc. I forgot - even after having mine apart a few times - but found this. See link for the best rebuild instructions i found...
I'm thinking the problem would be more with the linkage/bushings between the bracket on the shifter at the end of the column and the TF999. There's really not much to go wrong with the column as far as the shifter is concerned.
Mine is stiff from park as well - i thought that was because it is RHD.
How are you proposing to connect that MRGasket shifter to the trans?
I wish I had done a Lokar shifter - but they are not cheap.

Good luck
Not sure, i guess there's so many versions of that transmission 904/999 etc that some had the ring gear on the TC some didn't. I don't know how tolerant the lockup mechanism is to different gearboxes. i.e. is the judder a problem because you have a TC that does not work with a 360/TF999?
Pretty sure my 258/TF999 has the ring gear on the flexplate - not the TC. Wil be a few days before i can get the pictures.
Are you sure it a TF999? If someone has swapped a 360 you hopefully have a 727 - that may be different.
Exact same issues with mine. One thought though, I assume everyone is using SHCS? There's not much room for anything else, but if you are not it helps.
Had a similar issue on my TR6 engine block, always leaked at the front, eventually found that it was one of the alternator mount holes that had been drilled too deep from the factory.
Made a short length of threaded rod and sealed that in (a short grub screw would work) - so that the standard...
The Postal had a RHD (mirror image to LHD) heater, this isn't it. I'm wondering if it was an auxiliary heater fitted to some. There's a few web hits for a Model 356 Hupp heater.
Does it have a fan in it?
