I've got it on its side. All glass is good. Fiberglass is in nice shape . . . one small chip on the hatch under the driver side handle. Rubber around the fixed side window has shrunk. I think the center handle mechanism got stiff and the outer two handles were added. If you are interested, $900...
I've got two Acme full hardtops. I've been meaning to try to get a picture of the one in the storage bldg. It's black and in decent shape. It could use some fresh paint. It is unusual in the fact that it has 3 handles on the hatch. The gray one on my wife's Scrambler has two. Some only have...
Keep in mind there are two different ones. One like in your parts diagram that fits the 3-hole per spoke wheel in the 70s, and the one that fits 80s CJs and YJs. The difference is in the openings that fit around the spokes. Openings in the early ones are wider to fit around the wider spokes.
Yesterday I made a console pad in Slate Blue for someone who asked for it. I also finished up a Honey Laredo horn button for another request. Did Jeep ever make a Honey Laredo interior? I covered a Laredo wheel in Honey leather and so I made the horn button to match. This one I cast the allen...
Looks beautiful! Sounds like the windshield needs to lean back farther to match the uppers. New cowl rubbers can be dense and hard to compress to allow the windshield to come back. YJ uppers will probably have the square back corners and the CJ tops should have the rounded back corners. Have...
My headlights came today. Probably didn't cost much more than bulbs at the parts store. Very generous with the tie wraps, too. A few years ago I paid more for a relay and wiring kit to do this without bulbs. Members on here have passed on a lot of great deals available. Thanks to all of you.
Sounds like you bought it without actually seeing it. Must have been a good price. Big plus on the steel body. You've really been working steady on it. Congradulations. Pictures?
Probably wouldn't be too hard to use the CJ hood and cut the Willys grill to fit. Lose the Jeep lettering on the cowl and maybe add Willys lettering to the hood sides and tailgate. Lots of choices. This is your design so do what you envision.
And that is why I like to have a CJ windshield replaced with a YJ windshield. Rubber is already sealed to the glass and it gets sealed onto the frame.
Nice job with the CJ rubber.
If you have nothing, then maybe get a CJ7 or YJ tub and extend it. Or buy some of the panels for a CJ8 new and fabricate the others. Buy the time you locate some doors you will probably find a tub for parts that will make the build easier.
If you measure in the door jam from the center of the top hinge to the point where the latch post comes out, it should be 35 1/4" according to both sides of my wife's very original Scrambler.
