1983 Scrambler resto

I think you accomplished "different" simply by the outstanding quality of the work you are doing on this restore/rebuild. It looks beautiful.

Joe

Just to be different. On the CJ5, we inverted it and stenciled above it "If you can read this, flip me over".

As you would guess... I too love the color, sure would like to see them side by side

See what 2 together.. the CJ5 and the 8? The 8 doesn't look like a Jeep yet. In too many pieces.

In the Keys for lobstering for a couple of days and will return and continue and post pics.

Need to work under the dash, install the heater box, finish the dash, wire it (Painless) and install it, and install the pedals and gas pedal and cable. Got some parts via mail: Had the steering column rebuilt- found a tilt column for it. Also adding intermittent wipers and got the set up yesterday. Adding HID headlights to the grill. Looking forward to seeing them on at night. Then, on to the engine compartment.

Anyone ever painted the dash and door panels before? Looked online at SEM products to do it. That's in the future too.

By the way, my buddy who is a master bodyman, painter, neighbor and the director of this resto-mod, advised me that we are installing the doors, hood and tailgate and then painting the hinges body color.

'John N' suggested the 3M product that goes between the panels.

I found it John N, and have used it already. Nice stuff. I hope it doesn't 'hold' moisture and promote rust but I don't think it will if done right. Looking forward to installing the grill and front fenders with it.

I'm definitely not a pro on body work, but that stuff has worked for me on multiple projects.

Pictures of the lobsters would be good.

Amazing jeep. That what mine wants to be when it grows up.
Cant wait to see the final.

t7464jb, I want to see the final too. Its moving along. John N, pics will be forthcoming. Starts tomorrow (Friday). Saw many today.

Craner, I really dig your attention to detail. Hard work definitely pays off. It will be a head turner when you get that thing down the road! Heck, it's a head turner now...

Pulling up a chair to your build.....

Thanks. Ditto on yours. You have a great base; frame super clean as well as body. Mine is a Lexus color too. Just responded on your thread.

John N (and others), lobster season started this am. Limited out in 3 hours--24 lobster. Pics forthcoming (don't have the cable with me to download and publish). I'm sure there's a way to do it with my cell phone but don't know how. Anyone?

Sorry, no 'relevant' pics. But, got back from lobstering. John N, here is a pic. Day one, 24 tails. 72 tails overall 4 days, rained 2 days which limited our lobstering.

Have three girls who all lobster. They had a blast. On the days it rained, we went to Key west. Of course, found a Jeep--CJ5 Conch train.

Tomorrow, after work of course, attack the 8. Will post then.

Too late for pics tonight. However, worked on the heater box and related stuff under the dash. Got it all reinstalled. Will take pics tomorrow and post.

So is this going to be done by Memorial day beach weekend? It is starting to look to good to drive.

Not likely. Been out of town. But I am trying. It is slow but have 2 weekends! Will post pics Tonite.
