2011 SOA National Scramble - Ouray, Colorado

Alright!
Great to have both of y'all!

Scott, George and I were just talking about you minutes ago in my garage wondering if we'd see you or not. Haven't heard from you.

Wyoming huh? Haliburton moving you?

Yeah Halliburton is moving me. I am excited about it and so is Kelli.

How is George doing these days? How's that baby of yours doing?

Welcome Back Scott

:wave:We sure have missed you and Kelli at the last couple of events. It will be great to see you again. What part of Wyoming will you be in?

We will be in Casper.

Thanks and we are looking forward to this next event !!!

If my Scrambler project is finished (should be by March) and my finances are able (should be) I would love to make this trip:cheers: Hopefully everyhting will fall into place for me:fingerscrossed:

attending

We're planning on attending this year, we are also interested in doing some trout fishing while were there. We'll probably not tow the scrambler and just drive it.......San Antonio-Ouray! should be a fun ride! Looking forward to meeting everyone and getting to see some other Scramblers in action. Anyone else from Texas going? Just got finished building my new rack for hauling all the gear and added a 4" lift with new tires 33x12.50x15. Pics before the lift and rack powder coated.

ARRRGGGHHH! the timing of this sucks for us this year. I so wanna go, the trails are ones that i have always wanted to do... need new wheels and tires if the Scram is gonna head across country again..

After reading your incredible Scrambler Adventure - 2010.....A trip to S.W. Colorado would be a breeze for you. That was an amazing and admirable adventure you took!

Don't let a few tires and wheels hold you back.

Thanks!! The Scrambler is under going a huge transformation now. The drivetrain has completely changed. Its now sporting Dana 60s. the wheels and tires that I have for the 60s are warped from abuse. not very road friendly. not that that stops me, but i'd be nice to have a smoothish ride for such a long trip.
unfortunately, this trip isnt in the cards this year. unless i win the lottery. :fingerscrossed:

Yeah!

Sent in my registration. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Colorado bound from San Antonio, Lead the way Brent and I'll follow. Bringing the wife and the hound, so many stops anticipated. Putting a new 8.8 rear axle under the beast so i'm confident in the scram's capabilities, (4 wheel discs all the way around for those mountain s-turns).Anybody else from Texas going, saddle up and jump in line with us.

Dang, I want to go...so close this year. But, aside from my recent "loss of income", that's the week my Granddaughter is due, and I can't miss that....

...just made reservations through Ouray Rentals, Inc. (Ouray Realty in Pappy's post #80 above. Beth is no longer with them. If you use them, ask for Debbie Folsom. She is very helpful. 970-325-0482. We got a 3 bedroom to share with the Mr. Beeps and the Nacogdoches Nixes. :woot:

SOA membership and registration sent in today! :woot: Made reservations at the 4J+1+1 campground several weeks ago. Now that I'm ready, all I have to do is get my 'ol 8 up to snuff:crazy: Come on July!:woot::woot::woot:

I'm not sure yet if this will work for me, which is sad since it's by far the closest one to me that's been held so far, is pre-registration necessary? Can I just show up in Ouray and register then?

thanks

Cant wait! Hopefully we'll have the RV as a tow vehicle:fingerscrossed: The old lady, Midge and I are making plans to relax and enjoy the cool mountain temps and get out of the July Texas heat! Got 4 months to get the Scramblers and hopefully the RV ready to ride!

Yes you can show up in Ouray and register for the event and we hope you do. This is going to be a great event. The late registration fee for SOA member will be $80 and $95 for non member.

T-shirts will not be included in late registrations. When we get the t-shirt design complete we will take orders. A post will be made later for a time frame that orders can be made..

New Ouray tow rig

"That there is an Rv Clark"!

Getting ready for Ouray and checked in to renting an RV...wow! Did'nt realize they were so expensive to rent! We just decided to go out and buy ourselves one. Found a great deal on the 1978 33' foretravel with only 55,000 miles and newly re-done interior. Rv took a little oil and fire to get moving, but now runs like a top and with the 440 engine we should be able to tow the Scram to Ouray with no problem....Hopefully!

4J Campground

Tried calling and making reservations for an RV site today at the 4J and was informed there are no more spaces available during the convention time frame. After hearing the bad news we looked elsewhere and found the KOA outside of town. Went ahead and made reservations because it seems as though Ouray is filling fast for July. The lady at the KOA advised they had live music on the weekends, hot tub, beer and wine bar etc, anyone ever stay here? Hopefully its good:shrug:
