Finally got to try one of these. Was given to me by the owner of the store where I shop. Drank half from a glass and the second half from the can which was so much better.photo 1.JPG

I had a Dogfish head 60 min IPA. Then had a Paulaner Marzen.

I need a BEER WINCH cause I'm stuck on this one...

Sounds like the lyrics to a good ole country song. Sweet Water 420 Extra Pale Ale. Sweet Water Brewing Company - Atlanta, GA

Call me a PNW kid, but the Pyramid Snow Cap is "kinda" tasty right now....

Went out to dinner last night and they had Rebel IPA as their special beer of the month... it wasn't too bad.

Got home to find this...

Then realized that I was probably going to need to do something as these things just don't appear out of thin air for free.

I then poured some

Apparently it was a thank you for splitting wood the last few weekends to keep the wife/kids warm for the next few years.

Best 22 oz. I have had in a while.
However, if I consider all the years taken off my life for all the wood I cut and split, I am not sure I got the best end of the deal ;)

Dogfish Head Olde School Barley Wine. 15% alc.
So good and hard to find.
My cousin sent it to me from New Jersey because they don't sell Dogfish in Louisiana.

Friday night started out with this... from the west coast... usually I am an East Coast Guy when it comes to beer, but it looked good.
Dead Guy Ale Rogue... pretty tasty.

The Saturday after all the yard work went with a local 603 brewing, never had it before.
Red India Pale Ale... very nice.

Then I woke up to snow, so I have to do a bunch of work today to get the plow and snow blower on, so i will hopefully have another surprise for when I get done with all of that.

Yup, just confirmed that there is a Shipyard XXXX IPA 9.25% in the fridge for later on today to help warm up the cold bones.
18 degrees out and more snow on the way mid week... winter is upon us gentlemen.
Although it is cold, it is the best time of the year for me.

I just finished up the yardword from cleaning up all the trees that were taken down.
The wood is split and stacked for next year
Mom in her kerchief and me in my cap... wait, wrong story.

Take care.

Father in law likes to buy fun beer when I come because he doesn't drink or buy it otherwise.

Got a sampler from Pennsylvania Brewing.

Dark lager first, decent. Needed more than malt going on.

Their IPA. Not bad, not great.

Stopped by the Stoudt's brewery after shopping. Had a nice 1851 IPA draft there and got a nice selection to being back to the inlaws. First two:

Big Nasty was supposed to be a brutal IPA but it's not as bitter as I expected. Great beer even if it disappointed me on the level of hops.

Old Abominable is a great barleywine that Kate wanted to start with.

Had a couple of Guinness black lagers and now having a Beck's Sapphire.

I loved the transformers growing up, so my wife saw this and thought it was funny... it was quite tasty.

This was a local brew, very interesting... almost had a grapefruit/very citrus-ey aftertaste to it... hard to describe.
not my favorite, but definitely different.

This Sam Adams Winter Lager is pretty good but I wish I could still find their Octoberfest brew.
