Been a while since we had a Beer thread...

Had i known the story, i def would have had it. How is it?

And talk about "farm to table". Cool.

I don't know if it's because I am biased towards purchasing products that are as local to home as possible, but I think it's the best tasting beer I've ever consumed! It really is delicious.

Recently, I discovered a craft beer made in Colorado that uses all local Colorado ingredients. The hops, barley, yeast, water, etc...even the bottles, bottle tops and cardboard packaging is made in Colorado. It is the only beer in the world that is made and packaged with all native ingredients and it is available everywhere, but only in Colorado. :)

I think this is a neat idea, when considering "buying locally". It's sort of like the farmer's market of beers. For the environmentalist in all of us, it also provides a low carbon footprint from grower-to-consumer. Lastly, I think the name of the beer is very appropriate.

Have any of you Colorado members, or members that have visited Colorado, tasted this delicious beer?

did you take that pic?? If you did, get outside now and take a pic of every one of your Jeeps and post them up.
If you didnt take that pic, your painting skills have improved.

I also read a blurb in the news today that indicated Colorado Native has become so popular that the manufacturer plans to make a lower-alcohol version for sales in grocery stores (CO law = 3.2% only sold in grocery, convenient, etc., stores). Now we can enjoy more of it more often, like for breakfast and such... -bad for the CA & FL orange growers.
:)

Sorry, that Colorado Native picture was located via "Google Search-Colorado Native Beer-Images", and then I just copied it, pasted it to desktop, opened ImageShack and followed the instructions. Had you not asked, members may have been led to believe that I live in a nice clean contemporary home, with a taste for sharp contrasts between room furnishings and wall color finishes.

Died and went to beer heaven in Costco today. Could not believe my eyes. My absolute favorite winter beer at a screaming price. It was all I could do to control myself somewhat and only bought 8. We have a Christmas party tomorrow and these are my "dish to share"

It differs a little every year. Very very smooth this year without too much bite. Excellent!!

Got back from the father & son cadet campout with church this afternoon. Early to mid twenties temps and fun on the shooting range today helping the young ones. Went through about 500 rounds of .22LR. Time to clean the shooter and enjoy some nice MI beer.

First up is a basement brew from a guy at my wifes work. She said he called it dirty diaper. i would say it is a a stout with a brown head, quite complex for a home brew. Almost a cloves taste. I like it.

Next is a brew from Short's Brew in Mi. 'Lil Wheezy, which is a heavily hopped brown. Very hoppy and a bitter aftertaste. Worth a try but wouldn't get it again. Not my thing.

Moving on to another local brewery called Odd Sides in Grand Haven MI. They are really brewing up some odd concoctions if you look them up. This one is called Firefly, a pale ale Fermented with papaya and habaneros. Very mild in flavors but has a light lingering heat. I think this would be a great summer beer. Maybe for sand blast....
