Been a while since we had a Beer thread...

I have also been enjoying the Sam Adams Octoberfest.

Went to a new local brewery in Bend for my Birthday Friday night. RatHole Brewing, and it's location is what it's name describes. Well worth the search, however. Amazing food, and the beer was knockout good. Chocolate stout, Brown, Pumpkin...one of my new favorite places.

Best double IPA on the east coast IMHO on the left.

My friends beer on the right.

He can drink whatever he wants, he helps me turn wrenches.

There is nothing wrong with the Beast... kept me up many a night in college with it.

Been drinking Irish Kilters Irish Death, great stout. My fav is Left Hand Brewing Milk Stout, just cant get it near me.

Man, it has been like 25 years since I went to an A&W restaurant... I remember onion rings being very good, but then again, I was just a pup then.

There is an A&W about 40 minutes west of me. I try to stop there whenever I'm over that way. Love their rootbeer!

Anyone else do this when a sore throat tickle starts? Shot of vodka and a teaspoon of cayenne. Knocks the $&@# out of it instantly. Russian coworker got me onto this years back and it's amazing how well it works. Bacon vodka makes it taste pretty decent.

Then this is following it up to get a serious beer night going.

We have a drive in A&W in town here and it's a staple with both the Postal and Mater. I always get a fun reaction from the waitress in the Postal on the wrong side. Best draft root beer ever.

Next up. Espresso Love breakfast stout from Arbor Brewing here in Ann Arbor. This is a new one for me. Kate had one and liked it.

This is one of the darkest beers I've ever seen. No light gets though this.

Very smooth and a lot of espresso flavor. We will be buying this whenever I see it.

Next up. Dark Horse oatmeal stout for me and a New Belgium 1554 Enlightened Black Ale for Kate.

Next up. Olde Number 22 Alt Bier from Arbor Brewing. One of my favorites that I haven't seen in a while. Found it today after at least a year.

I'm really liking the looks of your dark beers. I don't think I've ever seen the Olde Number 22 or the Dark Horse Oatmeal Stout in the South. Must be a regional thing. I do like the dark beers... Lots of taste bud pleasure...

Doing great here, debating what's next to celebrate the Hokie's big upset.
