Just came across this while re-researching a project.![]()
That’s because they came out with the JTruk.
The welding and work required for that kit made it too difficult once the JTruk existed, he wasn't moving any of them.Yeah but the JTruk with the divorced bed is closer to a 2 door JT Gladiator than a Scrambler.
So much for a big brother.![]()
Say it ain't so... Don't go to the dark side...In other news, I have allowed myself to THINK about a V8... I can't believe it, but the idea keeps creeping back into my brain.

Exactly. I have no skill so my thought was simply splicing in flat sheet metal to fill the gap from narrowed wheelwells. Part of it is to fit a bigger back seat with headrests. (The issue is shock mounting because part of this project HAS to be finding an alternate shock mounting setup because I've been through a dozen or more of the RE U-bolt skid lower shock mounts to the point that there's no thread left for the mounts to screw in. I was thinking about trying to run the Ford shock towers in the rear and that may preclude narrowing the wheelwells.
I know I've seen this done before on here, maybe by @certifiablejeep
I was thinking to find a larger wheelwell to cut to the desired width and to minimize the patching required around the outside lip at the tub while also making more space for wheel stuffing.
I guess if you are going down the rabbit hole, might as well go with axels from ECGS and 40s
I'm pretty sure the trooper did not come with the 44. It was called something like a corporate 12 bolt or something along those lines in the Trooper. The rodeo had the 44.Not sure about that...I'm looking at a trooper D44 (pretty cheap) and have seen people adapt TJ long arm rear kits for pretty cheap... 35s is max for me... I don't need to be in the JL arms race of 37s/40s

Yes!!! Keep allowing yourself to THINK about it. A 5.3L just feels right in a Scrambler. Peppy, but not a lot of power where you would be constantly breaking stuff. Plus better mpgs than the 6. Do it! You won't regret it.In other news, I have allowed myself to THINK about a V8... I can't believe it, but the idea keeps creeping back into my brain.
