Current Scrambler pics

That boat makes it easy. 50 years ago I used a 14 foot mahogany skiff and 2 25 hp Johnson outboards manually steering with both.

Went camping with my youngest son over the weekend did about 300 miles with no issues.
As you can probably tell the weather wasn't great (its the UK its normal 😁 )but we had a good time anyway

Tell me about the hard top. I haven't seen one without side windows for a Scrambler.

Do you know who the manufacturer was? Is it just a UK brand? Or did you do some fiberglass work and fill in the windows?

I am planning on adding a full hard top and want to replace the windows with some flip up type for easy access to the camping gear. Like these:

I have been told that someone over here in the UK made a special mould for them which has now been destroyed but not sure if that tale is actually true?
It came that way with no windows in it to make it some sort of van and i haven't seen another one with a full hard top so i dont actually know how many were made, so the one i have might be a lone survivor!.
I do know after the weekend that it does not leak and although i would of initially preferred a very hard to source halfcab like my other 8, i do quite like it now, and i am partial to a van so its staying on!.
As @bigwalton pointed out to me you definitely need some good mirrors with a full hard top, standard mirrors are no use whatsoever!.

I am pretty sure the now closed AJ's that was in Jersey Shore, PA would make a full top without windows. I will try and check my old catalog from them if I can find it.

Thanks. Good tip on the mirrors.

No worries. Don't spend time looking for the catalog. I've never seen one without side windows until Dave posted those pics.

There is some more photos in my 82 build thread somewhere near the beginning i think, that top of mine used to be a different colour (as did the 8 itself) 😀
