Current Scrambler pics

@Oakley is the floor in your building asphalt or concrete? Thx......
Currently asphalt. When I was building the shop it would not quit raining. I had a paving guy who owed me a bunch of money so I rocked the place heavy and had him come put 6 inches of asphalt down temporarily. I have a concrete guy coming this winter to put 6” of concrete on top of it.

If you are interested, I have lots of pics from my 2,940 mile adventure in my Scrambler here:

Went to the Colorado Scramble in Silverton and to Ketchum, Idaho.

Took the Scrambler out on an easy dirt road to test the Midland MXT-275 GMRS radio and figure out how to hit a repeater and how effective it would be.

I have the Midland 6 db gain antenna on the Jeep.

I'm not a ham radio guy or anything. Moved from CB to GMRS. I was amazed how well it worked. Once I got the repeater setup, I made a "radio check" call and a couple of guys responded immediately. I was down in a small ravine following a river and hit the repeater on a mountain about 10 miles away. One of the replies was from a guy about 25 miles away and the other was a guy in the mountains about 55 miles as the crow flies East of where I live. REPEATERS ARE COOL! All transmissions were very clear. I know there is now a GMRS repeater on the Rubicon Trail. As more get brought up, it will be nice to have them available. (I do also have a Garmin InReach device for satellite messaging)

Here are a couple of general shots I took:

There is a MTB Trailhead and this cool classic Bronco was parked there.

The NV-4500 Transmission is working great with the 5th gear fix and full rebuild. (I lost 5th gear on my Colorado/Idaho trip) Glad to have overdrive back!

I will be planning out building new rear lower corner guards this winter so It will be Rubicon ready for next Spring.

I'm a Ham and if you like what you found with GPRS you'll be blown away with Ham. I was driving from Pollock Pines to Sacramento and talking with a guy in New York City with the repeater hookups! Unbelievable. All you really need is your Tech license which is very easy to pass but will open up so many doors to communicate.

Thanks for sharing, I need to learn how to get my GRMS Repeaters to work… I am going to Rubicon in June 2025 and decided to mount a Starlink Mini under the roof. Waiting on parts to do a writeup. One time hardware cost and monthly $50 and you only turn on the months you need. https://www.starlink.com/roam

From this

To this today. As much as I love topless Scramblers, it looks so good with the half hard top on.
I remind my wife and daughter how much I love them to run a back seat and a full top. While I don't mind the look at all a half cab looks SO GOOD... as the AMC Gods intended.

My wife won’t really ride in it now and since my kids outgrew the back seat, i immediately swapped to the half top

Thinking of using my hardtop too this winter but do you loose a lot of leg room?

Dose not look to bad. Look on the bright side, you were having fun and not doing 30 mph and it didn’t go over a cliff. You might not even need another can of paint.
