It's time to start making some changes.....

I'm running out of time to do some of this stuff on Saturday's so I made my front limit strap today. Tomorrow I'm going to try to build my switch panel for the E-locker. I had to do some work to the pitman arm to keep it from over-traveling past it's limits at full extension. Since it travels from flat to angle, I twisted the pitman arm to resolve that. Now I need to angle taper the steering arm to do the same thing.

Oh yea...Here's a before pic of the miserable brake lines that the PO had installed. I'll have an after pic this weekend. :)

That thing is a beast. So much awesome!

I know those things have been keeping you awake at night! Get 'em "fixed back" right. Great Jeep

The brake lines have been drime crazy bur i knew rhat i was going to be making some changes and didn't want to build them twice. I have to build an air intake and its killing me knowing that when i change to the LS3 intake and cylinder heads, it'll need to be built again. I just don't have time to put the heads on before I go.

Not really. It would take as much time to build one from scratch as it would to just throw something together. I'll get one built one way or another. After I get that air intake built and while the paint is drying on it, I can rebuild the power steering hoses, mount the PS cooler, bleed the brakes and get this thing where I can finally drive it. I really want to weigh this thing so I can start putting it on a diet to see how much weight I can shed off of it. Once that is done and I have a number, I can respring the rear coilovers and have that done. As of this next weekend, I have three days(Saturdays) to get it done and tested. The pinch is on.....

my old college saying is......there's nothing more productive than the last minute! you'll be fine, awsome work

I don't like last minute stuff or being unprepared. I was thinking at Christmas time that I was ahead of time but apparently not. I had grand ideas of taking the Jeep out to Tierra del Sol to test it but that event starts this Friday. Needless to say, I don't see myself making it out there.

Gitter done right, there will be plenty events in the future.

Yes but I wanted to do a full test on it instead of the poser forklift shots. Forced articulation when in real world situations, you can never duplicate with the forklift. I just want to know it works correctly before I go.

My power steering pump did not get shipped this week so I did not get the power steering hoses built. I did get the limit strap mount welded in and a measurement for the strap. The wiring for the E-locker is temporarily complete to the frame also. Now I need to figure out what I'm going to do for the switch to control it. The intake tube is built and painted. Since I'm not good at waiting for paint to completely dry, I even got the scratches out of the way now. :) Other than bleeding the brakes again, it's ready for the street. I took it around the block yesterday to get some heat into the engine so I could test the cooling fan only to find out that the fan relay had given up the ghost while being inactive for the past 4 months. Go figure....... I manufactured some sway bar disconnects since the sway bars restrict the travel. The pins are done and the top saddles are just about made now. The heim joints that came with the kit have a mounting stud which obviously would not be the easiest(fastest) to disconnect. I made a fixture to press the saddles so I could cold bend the steel uniformly. The last thing is the pitman arm that I bent has to be re-bent again because I put too much angle in it so now it bottoms out the rod end on compression now......:banghead:

I just caught wind that there will be night runs this year up and Moab. I only needed one switch for the locker before I heard that. With that new information, now I need some more light switches. I built this mount to go on the crossbar right above the Lowrance unit. Now I need to figure out if I want it centered in the vehicle or Senate above the Lowrance. What do you guys think?

Seems like centered over the Lowrance would look more "right" to me

Sway bar link retainers done, switch panel installed but needs to be wired, shifter cable replaced, fuel tank leak fixed, front lights wired mostly, and the second list is shorter now after 11 hours on it yesterday. I'm about burned out on this thing now. Maybe I can get it out for a drive this week to break in these gears before I beat the crap out of it in two weeks.
