The easy part is right there. The hard part is going to be pulling the existing cage, buying a larger Lowrance, Racepak, cable shifters, building a new cage, wiring, etc..... Surely I can do that in one weekend.......
 
just a gorgeous jeep!! and to make it worse, it actually all works!! an incredibly delicate balance that you sure seemto have nailed. Well done!

did you ever sell the old engine/trans?
 
Naw.... I still have the old motor/transmission. I put it over in the corner out of the way at the shop so I have a tendency to forget about it.

The Jeep so far has been really good. The only issue that I have is I have some converter vibration. It's a pain in the *** to pull the transmission so I have not pursued it at all. It's not horrible but it does not need to be there. I tried hard to soft mount everything so it's nice to drive. I absolutely hate vehicles that buzz. This past weekend a friend and I put on about 120 miles driving and wheeling without a hitch. I now have enough transmission coolers to pull the hills without the transmission fluid getting past 205 degrees. Now I just need to get on to the dashboard. That will be a big project-

I though your Scram was cool before I found this thread, now I can only hope mine ends up 1/2 as nice. Power, 20 mpg, cruises at 70/75, whats not to like. Excellent work, if I was in Phx I would be calling.

It's a 9300c Lowrance gps. I don't have the mapping card updated so it only shows limited local information. I've been using one in my Jeep for quite a few years now. This one has twice the screen size though at 10.4".

It's definitely canted more tward marine or offroad use. Any offroad race cars use the units because the course map is already in the lowrance format.

Dash / console

PHP: 
There was a guy in FL long time ago that made a dash / console that was similar. Don't see cup holder's or A/C vents :)
 
The vents are there on the outer corners and the cup holders were placed on the second revision. Those are absolutely required out here. ;)
 
As an update, I've been monitoring my loss of height in my rear suspension springs and even after adding the extra leafs, i have still continued to flatten the springs. So far I have lost quite a bit of arch. So the change to the aluminum dash may need to be stalled for a bit so I can 4 link the rear. So now I'm starting collecting parts to make that change.

Been looking at your thread and the rear seat set-up. I just sold my first CJ8 and about to buy another. I want to fab up a rear seat set-up like yours that I can bolt in/remove depending on if my kids are out with me or not. Could you tell me which model of the Twisted Stitch seats you used?
