ModernJeeper Death of Rubicon Express?

Kinda feeling like I should get spares for my CJ8. With a 401 and will have either an xd8000i or m8274 wondering if I should get rears for up front? Do the rears bolt right up in front?
Good question. Yes my re 4.5" aren't even finished breaking in with only about 2k miles on them.. But winch & future possible 360 or 401 🤔 at this price point I should get a set of rears.... If they bolt rt up.
Plus once I upgrade the front axle it'll be apart anyways Next year I'm going to get a waggy 44 or better for up front with an arb & 4.10s, what would be good donor vehicles besides a wagoneer?

This is one of those moments I kinda wish I wanted to run bigger tires, but I'm happy with my 31's, even though the 2.5" Rancho lift leaves a little to be desired.

Autoplicity is a little cheaper on these RE springs. They do charge shipping, but it wasn't much. I could get all 4 for $199ish including shipping and tax.

They used to have a 2.5 & 4.5" kit. Maybe there are still 2.5" springs out there?

Try Amazon. With Prime, no shipping charge.

Amazon Prime was $140 including shipping and WA state sales tax for 2 springs.

Autoplicity would be $130 including shipping and WA state sales tax for 2 springs.

I would have ordered from Autoplicity had I known that beforehand, but $10 isn’t worth the hassle it would be for everyone that returning such heavy, awkward items to Amazon and re-ordering from Autoplicity would entail.

What is the recommended spring for 35”, spring over, 1” body lift? This would be for my ‘82 with L92/NV4500/NP241C.

I’m thinking 2.5” might be the correct lift?

This is what I run. 35's with 1" body lift. I use the Rubicon Express RE1445. They are YJ 1.5" SOA springs and work great. Not sure these springs are available now based on this thread.

You can probably get by without the body lift but I did that to clear the NV-4500.

I have TJ Flares now but ran them with the stock flares. They ride great with the Bilstein 5125 shocks- not harsh at all.

And they flex well...

Thanks, that looks perfect!

I figured the 1” lift would help with the trans and the gas tank and engine clearances.

I'm not having any luck find bushings, without buying 4 complete end kits at $45 each. Anybody found a decent price on 1.5'' spring bushings. I think the obsolete RE kit is RE1492. Which 4 Wheelparts will kindly let you go through the hassle of ordering only to cancel the order without letting me know.

I just bought the kits for rear CJ leafs from Amazon. They were 35ish per kit.

Did you buy 4 kits? 1 rear kit comes with 4- 1.25" shackles bushing and 2- 1.5" leaf springs bushings? The RE spring has 1.5'' eye diameters on both eyes. So one needs 8 total 1.5'' spring bushings and 4 1.25'' shackle bushing for all 4 leaf springs.

The Prothane kits I purchased were enough for two springs each kit. So one kit for the rear and one for the front. For the front, I will use some spare bushings for the 2” upper portion of the conversion shackles rather than the 2.5” bushings that came in the kit.

It is a shame Jim over at Crabtree shut down. I was planning to use his mounts for my YJ conversion.
