One of the entertaining things about buying used vehicles is seeing what the POs have cobbled together. I had a good bit of work to do around the house today, so thought I'd pick something "easy" to do on the Scrambler, which meant pulling the chrome instrumentation bezel off and replacing it with the factory correct black. As I was removing the aftermarket mechanical oil pressure gauge to fit the bezel on, I found this fancy mounting system: 2 hose clamps connected together in a circle, designed to hold the gauge in place...oh well, I guess it worked. But the ground wire woven into the slots of the clamp? Not even sure what this ground goes to, but I connected it properly later.

Check out the fancy "grounding" job on the clamp (look for the black wire on the clamp, by the bolt):

That looks like a high dollar fix right there. Hope you didn't take it out or your scrambler may never run right again.....![]()
Dave, the compression dropped in 3 cylinders after I fixed this. (J/k)[/QUOTE]almost moved to Chapin? don't hear that very often in a 2 stoplight town.
life is good (but hot) here. especially since the aggies whipped the gamecocks last nite... hopefully the tigers will whip up on Georgia this wkd.
only ties I have w/ NE is that we buy some of our metal buildings from a company out there , C
BTW, We almost moved to Chapin SC 6 years ago, but life changed. Beautiful country and beautiful people. Still want to get to the South East if only for a visit. It took me half a day to realize that "Hay" means "Hi".
Have some spicy boiled peanuts and a cold beer for me, if you would.
My rust is pretty much on the outside, the seams look good (we'll find out after sandblasting) as does the underside.Hey tell me something do you guys have rust rear of the wheel well along the line where the floor pan meets the side but NOT in the same place on the left? Weird similarity on ours

I was lining something up with Ellett Bros. Used to own a gun store and I have always been in sales in one form or another.
ellett bros- we built those bldgs. and still do work up there. as you can imagine, they've been bought and sold a few times and their sales have been growing exponentially by 40-50% since Bush left ofc. imagine that.

, so it was important that I upgrade to 33 x 10.5's. I agonized over going 32 x 11.5, but I like the height of these plus I didn't lose any turn radius.
. Noticed it last week, and at first thought it was the brake cylinder leaking until I pulled the drum and noticed everything doused thoroughly in rear end dope.
Keep in mind that I stared at the thing and fiddled with it for two hours before coming to this conclusion!
