"Oscar" the '86 CJ-7

Yeah man. We all want that build to start. Trying to stay focused and get one at least running before I dive into the next. Not an easy task my ADD is really acting up.

Get on it!!! :headbang:

:headbang:

Was just saying this weekend that I need to get going on rust repair, it's only taken 12 years... :banghead:

Looks good. Looks like I have similar spots in the same places on my green '7. Plan is to pull the tub and fix as you've done. I'll get around to it one of these years.

Well im im the process of putting the fuel tank back in. There was a bunch o rubber matting between the poly tank and the skid. Was wondering if this was supposed to bee there or another "fix" of some sort by the PO.

Pic of the rubber.

Heck of a day lots of progress. Feels pretty good to be able to see the bench that was covered with all those parts.

Still a lot to go. Trying to get all the nuts and bolts and straps was a good time but managed to miss a few. Time for another hardware store run when i get back from work next week and finish the stuff from today. As close as the chassis feels defiantly time to hammer out the tub so this wiring has somewhere to go.

Finished up a few things on the chassis today. Fuel lines clamped to frame and last few hose clamps installed. Spedo cable and steering shaft put back on. Also got the throttle cable adapter for the TBI made and installed along with a bracket for the coil. Waiting for the sending unit to show up: should be here soon, and still need to find some kind of clamp for the fuel pump and finish the wiring for the TBI.

Heading to try and get a few more patch panels in the tub tomorrow. Would like to get it ready for paint before it gets too cold to spray myself.

Tub work today. Made some pretty good progress and even found a piece of steel in the pile that should work for the long hole in the rocker panel.

Didn't have a pic of that side done, but it is. :D

Other side floorboard.

Got the next one cut out ready for Thursday.

Also had a fight with the grinder today. It won. And i even had gloves on might need to upgrade the gloves.

Had a couple hours before i had to make the 1 and a half hour run to pick up some tires for the scrambler yesterday. Got a few patch panels in and filled a bunch of screw holes from an old style top with the snaps. The soft top i have has rails now so i wont need the screw holes anymore. Was on a time crunch so only got some pictures when i was getting going.

Rebuild the drivers side A pillar today. Lots of angles but I think it came out pretty good.

Nice job on that pillar. I did a lot of work on the seat belt attachment area on my tub. Time consuming, but worth the effort.

Thanks. The b pillar is in about the same shape. So it will be next. It looks like the seatbelt bolt is still in good shape just the bottom inch or so. Should get to that one begining of the week.

Got some more work done today. B Pillar re-built, one section of floor in and completed the edging area. It so close to being ready to have the side put back on i can taste it.
