Yeah my waste scrambler tub. I have considered fitting them to my glass body but I do not really know what benefit I would gain by doing this so I have not cu them out yet. I am guessing they are reinforcement for the stock body to prevent cracks from the hard doors slamming shut and for the seat belt mount.

The support has holes in it to mount the striker for the door.
Yes it stiffens up the area right there as well, and the bottom is for the seat belt mount hole.
The early CJ7's didn't have that setup as the doors were different, so they just had an angle type plate that helped to stiffen it up somewhat.

If you ever decide to cut that tub up and part with the pieces, let me know.

They are a lot more expensive than that red harbor freight ones, but you can roll them with very little effort.
The harbor freight ones required full body weight and sometimes 2 people.

Just got caught up on your build. Looks like it's progressing nicely. I like the way your going with making everything work and looking forward to seeing all come together. Have you asked your daughter what colors she prefers? :)
 
Well the older one wants white on her project... the younger one wants "Rainbow"... we are working on trying to at least pick one of those 7 ;)

I have to confess I did find someone's abandoned project as a starting point... so I sold off the YJ tubs and then was able to use this one as a starting point.
It definitely will save a lot of time.
I still have to close out the back and remove the bulkhead, but all in all, it is a great starting point.

After jersey helped put the tub on I am just trying things and measuring
