Got some muscle help last night and got the old stuff out and the new stuff in place... I hope to get a bit done over the next few days.
The cage will stiffen up the tub while I cut off the back and the portion of the floor that needs replacing.
I went with this YJ tub for a few reasons
1) Has the Jeep letters on the side, the old one did not
2) It is a YJ, so it is a Jeep and everything lines up with the doors... no tweaking needed.
3) It actually is very solid.
4) It fits more of the original parts/feel for what I am trying to build... the tub is an 89, so it fits the decade I am trying to capture.
All in all I will replace the driver floor, get it all fitted up, put in the CJ defrost, cut for the blazer motor upgrade and mount it on the frame... I know these holes are in the right place as well (probably should have been #5) on the list.
Bottom line is that that aftermarket stuff is fine, but it does require a lot of tweaking to get it right and I don't have the time, nor do I feel for spending that much money that you should have to.
The front portion is for sale now if anyone was needing to a new floor... just the floor portion that they sell is over $600 alone shipped to you.
I have used that floor in the Scrambler, worked out pretty good.
