Had some family medical issues that slowed down the progress train this week.
I wasn't able to get outside Tues-Thurs this week but got back to it a little Friday and yesterday.
Clocks turned back, so we can get a bit more time today before it gets dark early.

Got it all trimmed up and fit in place and next up is to weld it in place.
I am too particular... and it takes way too long to do this, but it is very relaxing

Continuing on...

Bonus picture #1... see how clean that is inside the B pillar... usually New England stuff never has the spacer with the hold in it and the seat belt captive nut is either missing, snapped off, or the bolt is cut off in it.

Bonus picture #2... is it getting warm in here? also, why does it smell like BBQ?

Finally got a few of these center console pads... very nice quality and will work well I think with what I am trying to do.

Yeah, I uploaded a ton of pictures obviously, not sure why the last one won't load... I resized it and now it works... weird... it wasn't all that big to begin with... did I hit a daily limit?

No, there are no limits (or they’re enormous) for lifetime members. Probably some odd hiccup.

Are you just posting teaser photos for the rest of us to drool over now?

That red console is so :love::love:

Lots of grinding and some spot welding and finish welding and the sides are on by themselves.
A bit more clean up work with the grinder, but all in all, I am happy with how it turned out... body work will get the rest of it.

I also stripped down the front of the tub to expose the hydraulic clutch area, a few other areas that were blocked off... my guess is for the diesel engine that was in there vs. the gasser one.

Finally the side door catches... they were so bent and mangled that getting them off of the b pillar took a pry bar.

I guess when they opened the doors on the tarmac, it was windy and if those straps held, the metal had to bend...

Been meaning to update the thread but it has been a tough week.
We lost my father in law last weekend and we are just trying to figure out the new normal.
I had taken these pictures, but haven't had time to sit down and doo some computer work.

I was trying to see about putting on some rocker trim or not and how it would land now that there is a cab and a bed.
I have a lot of pieces of busted ones, a Scrambler size, CJ7 size and a CJ 5 size.
I definitely won't be cutting the scrambler one up, but will have to figure out how to get the CJ5 ones (already have holes in it) cut to work how I want.

On a positive note, I am almost ready to put the floor in... the floor needs some tweaking and I have to strip off the black stuff and coat it with weld thru, but all in all a little more grinding and I hope to marry it all up... just need to find some time.

Sorry for your loss. Hopefully you and your family can find some comfort in knowing he's in a better place and remembering the time you had together.
