What did you do with your Scrambler today? December 2014 Version

I don't remember who posted up about the sale (didn't go look before tying this) but as soon as I saw the post I went and looked at how good it was. I am a long ways from being ready to install these but at the savings offered then I went and ordered a set.

Print out the order receipt and a picture and wrap it up in a great big box with a rock for weight and let them open that.

When I posted on the sale I could saved another 70.00 or so. I thought about trying to call and cancel then reorder but that didn't seem the right thing to do. Was just bad timing, "it is what it is".

Primered and painted the old headlight bezel. Installing stainless steel/powder coated black hardware (hinges, latches etc.) and thought it would look funny with the stainless steel bezels. Boy was I wrong, the jeep looks like it has a black eye. I think I'm going with the stainless steel bezels. Also started to put the headlight hardware when I found the previous owner did a patch job. Never noticed it 4 yrs ago when I took it apart. Now ordered two new headlight assemblies .

Took it for a test drive after replacing the tie rod yesterday. It was nice to drive it again after being down a week.

I went fishing but packed the jeep for the wife and kids to go to the beach. They rang all cranky because the jeep was bunny hopping everywhere so then they chucked it back in the shed. When I got home I drove it around the block to find an obvious ignition problem. Distributor cap was just sitting on with screws undone and this
The tang was just laying in the bottom under the rotor star wheel. How did it even work?

It probably fell off when you pulled the cap. I had this happen on a 69 cougar once and it left me dead in the water. I ended up pushing the tab back under the other piece and it managed to stay in place to get me home.

Got a chance to fit the gauges in the dash . Also got a separate fuse box and two ground junction boxes mounted. Now I just need to get the dash switches in and I can wire her up.
