Yeah, they came out pretty good... got them all done this morning and tossing them up on CL to see how they do locally... shipping wheels is tough due to the cost, people tend to freak when you tell them it is going to be $150 to ship 5 wheels, but it is what it is.

You have to watch the workbench very carefully... sometimes things JUMP off of it and grab some new sneakers and a friend for a hat and mount themselves....

I just wish my cell phone camera took better pics as this wheel came out great! I still need to clean the blue off the white letters.

I actually got the camera out to take a better picture of these, but it came out somewhat blurry too!

Been a 6 month hiatus on this thread... what ya all workin' on?

I got all the pieces and parts that are coming off the RHD tear down and every night I try to clean it off when I am done!

293/182k kilometers/miles on that speedo and it still works? That thing ought to be in a museum! Dash looks great!

I see your dash and I raise you one... well actually you win, mine is going in for dis assembly for fitment and filling holes.

I can help you. When you fill the two big holes next to the steering collum hole send me the things that came out. I'll look after them for you.

I think those 2 holes are too big to fill ;)

The issue is going to be where I want to stick the stock radio back in and the dual switches on the riveted tin plate... for some reason they off centered it a tad and I feat a couple of the holes go through the dash and I think one of the radio holes is buggered up a bit because of it.

Speaking of dashes... this is on my workbench...

I've always liked the look of aircraft-style gauges, like these military ones:

I was thinking something like that might look cool in a CJ dash, so I made a "fighter" gauge bezel for a CJ gauge:

It's a fairly simple ring cut from plastic, here is it before painting (notice above I also painted the chrome ring around the gauge):

Rather than machine more of these, I'm thinking I could make a silicone rubber mold and mold them in urethane casting resin.

I've laid out a design for a bezel for a CJ speedo, I plan to make one soon:

Jeff, I was just thinking about gauge bezels like those the other day. Fantastic!

Cool looking bezels. I wonder how 3D printing them would work.

Revamped lower steering shaft with all new parts and pieces and put together the tilt column and both are ready to go now! Just need to finish the other couple hundred hours worth of fixes ;)

There's a pair of black TJ door handles, and 6 LED lights, all patiently awaiting installation. I just finished a customer's car so maybe I'll have some time to accomplish that.

There's also a bunch of LR308 parts, including an Aero Precision M5 upper and lower in Flat Dark Earth. Not enough to finish the build but enough to drain my wallet temporarily. Having 2 expensive passions is not for the financially squeamish...

I'm going on my 5th week in Mauritania--there is but dust on my work bench......

I like the aircraft gauge bezels, very good idea. Wish I had a project to put some on! Nothing comes to mind right now though. If someone makes some though I would be interested in picking up a few.

How do you guys have such clean work benches / garages?

Half the time I can't even find my workbench under all the Jeep parts!
