Now that is what a work bench is supposed to look like.
 
Kind of a cross between a cast iron stove and a roaring fire that is contained. Fueled by diesel. Used to keep fruit on trees from freezing in the late fall. Killed off when the 73-74 oil embargo hit and fuel went through the roof and also not environmentally friendly

Sounds like a military pot belly stove. :)


 
Round fuel vessel with open flame. The SC DMV apparently used to use them to mark road nighttime construction in the 50's-60's. My Dad claims they used to 'donate' them so teenagers could have light for parties at the river.

I found one out on the farm when I was a kid. Probably one of those "donated" to teens.
