Project "AZZ DRAGGER"

It's capable of good mileage...I didn't say it was easy.

:bacon::bacon::bacon: Congradulations! :thumbsup:

Like Randy said, eeeeasy on the skinney pedal (at least untill we get to the Dunes!)

Nice work.

Just a thought, I didn't see an air intake filter for your York. Sand Dunes and no air filter = bad things.

Yeah no filter... I have to figure something out...

Took her out for a REALLY good test run yesterday. 2+ hour drive, wheeled 2 mild-ish trails and 2+ hour drive back towing a M116A2 trailer.

Drove GREAT, wheeled great! Drove home Great! So if i had one word to describe yesterday, it would be good!
Has a couple issued that will need to be addressed...
lost head lights at some point during the day, and front suspension bottomed out a few times. This damaged the cross over pipe when the u joint from the driveshaft hit it.
It was a WET day. Torrential for most of the drive up, rain of and on during the trail rides and ride home.

unfortunately we only got one picture of the Jeep wheeling. It was a DEEP hole. My buddies YJ on 39"s had to winch himself out of it.

Been a while since I updated this... havent really done anything or driven the Scrambler since I got back to work in August. :(
I did get a couple things for the Jeep that I will put in once I'm off work in December...
Got a new cam. I wasnt happy with the Z06 cam that I had put in the LM7. It worked GREAT on the dunes but for normal street driving it sucked a$$. It made most of its power above 3500 rpm.
The cam I got will make its power at 1600 rpm and should have a flat torque curve all the way to red line.
Also picked up a set of 1.8 ratio full roller rockers (stock at 1.7). Should help the engine breath better.
and lastly got a set of double valve springs.
Cant wait to get that stuff in. Come spring, I'm gonna bring the Jeep to a guy that tunes LSx engines and chassis dyno it too!

I havent been working on the Jeep because on my days off, I'm working on Connie's new toy, a 1961 Beetle. Doing some rust repair on the rear. Heres a pic of it... it is a 20 ft car. looks good from 20 feet. For a 61, its in great shape. The prep work for the paint job was horrible and the previous owner should never be allowed to use anything that resembles a tool.
