I am moving so I passed this onto "OEM Tom" here in Utah.

Had some time to work on my TJ. Recently installed a Rubicon D44 rear and needed to mount the air pump. Wanted it under the hood so I flattened and trimmed the original bracket to mount on the factory ECM bracket. Clean up and paint tomorrow.

I wish my work bench!!! At least it broke down at my sister's house!!! Fixing my/nephew's LJ Rubicon, fuel pump or regulator took a dump. It will run if you drip gas down the intake, how I got it out of the street LOL!!!! Was below 30 when I started this morning, close to 40 now. Much more involved on a 2005 then what the YouTube video I watched showed!!!!!! Of course, full tank, impossible to siphon with tank up, so carefully lowered tank down. Takes about 5 drop a little, disconnect some things, lower a bit more, repeat repeat, repeat. With tank down, removed fill hose to siphon, spill gas. Anyway, got it by the short hairs now. Once I siphon, one wire to undo and I can slide it out. Will order a Mopar/Bosch pump tomorrow, if I can. Hate to put a cheap pump back in here, false economy for sure. The install, with empty tank, will be easy. Only way to learn is to do it!!! Hope I get a pump before Friday, it will be 26 Friday night!!!!!

No way!!! I have too much high school trauma from my CJ7 being broken down, going to get him back in his wheels ASAP!!!Maybe tell him to get a ride until the thaw.
Need to see who can get a pump fastest. Draining last of gas now, loosened/removed module lock ring already. Once I get a pump it should only take 2 hours tops to put it back together. I go inside until its time to swap gas cans to stay warm
I went full RedneckRay on its ass - flipped over recycle can, gas tank on top, siphon tube out the side, I'm sure neighbors love me!!!!!!

With the stability of fuels today, investing in a transfer pump is a good idea (imho).
I have a gastapper, and it works great, not a speed demon, but does a great job getting fuel out of tanks that don’t like to gravity drain. Also has semi rigid tubes to help the siphon tube navigate tricky fuel fill lines.

Even with the tank down, fill hose off neck built into tank, there are 4 plastic protrusions inside filler neck to force tube past, and then a checkball/flap. They really don't want you to siphon gas!!!! The fill is also the vent when you fill it, the tank can malfunction and burp fuel out when you fill it, unless you fill the last 3-4 gallons slow. This LJ doesn't do it, my other 05 did. Jeep did a recall on JK models that use the same system, would not recall the TJ/LJ. People also use some type of GM fill hose that has a check ball. BigWalton knows what I am talking about.
Anyway, it brings the suck to siphon gas on this thing.

No pics, but the white half top is on Matt Donaghy's workbench at GRT8Tops to get refurbished to go back on Old Blue after it gets it's R&R work done later this spring down in GA. Finally getting this going!
