Alaskan Postal Scrambler/World Cab - count/registry - help build the list

I told him to check in here on Facebook and he replied that he already checked our list. I swear that color looks familiar

This thread is getting long and complicated to review, but we have another that came up for sale here on the forum in TN.

VIN: 1jcce88f0et019819

IMPORTANT NOTE: the reference to "One of 50 survivors" is utter BS and that's why I crossed it out and edited the color. This thread right here is the only thing that comes close to being able to generate that number and it would appear that he's taken that number from one of my own posts in it where I mentioned that number specifically saying: "as a guess".

I think that the way that he presented it in this ad is borderline criminal, for the record.

"This is a rare 1984 Alaskan Mail Jeep. One of 50 survivors [bigwalton edit] from Alaska. I got this jeep to be a project when I was working as an RCA for USPS. I have too many projects so this one has to find a new home. New =Weber Carburetor =Sheet metal panels =Fuel Pump =Sending Unit =Head\Tailights =Period Correct Axles =Seatbelts =Mail Tray =Carpet =Rehupolstered Headliner =Gauges =Battery =4 extra tires =Painless Wiring Harness = Powder-coated dash, divider plate, and bumperettes. =Comes with all-new weather stripping Still needs to have the axles finished, the wiring is only half installed so it needs to be trailered. Engine is solid, with 135 psi in every cylinder. I was in the process of getting an HEI Distributer because the old computer distributer went out. New door panels are coming for it this week to finish out the inteior. Most of the foam in the rear area was removed. Overall a great project for any carriers out there, or anyone that wants to own a rare jeep. Also comes with extra patch panels. Would be willing to trade for an indian scout OBO"

This one is now down to $7500 asking price FWIW

That's the first postal I've seen that I actually really want. Beautiful! If you're ever up in Vero drop me a PM.

I’d be in on it if it was semi clean and I could go see it. A long way from here and my ratio of project + cars + kids / jeeps is already too high. Good luck to my wife when I retire,

Yes but he appears to just be looking for VINs and we don’t have a fraction of them. I think it’s the surf Postal without the top.

Does the VIN have a designation that shows it is a Postal?
I don't know, but I went down a rabbit hole tonight. There are 28 listed VIN’s, or 12 percent of the total built. They range from 19628-19838. If the VIN’s are sequential (my guess is they are), that range covers 210 vehicles! That is very close to the 230. I cannot find a 1984 with a VIN in between those that is not a postal (not that I have spend more than tonight searching the internet).

So of the ones with VIN’s in this thread, AK-RWC’s parts rig is the oldest and the AZ restomod in post 181 is the newest.

None of the VIN’s that were posted had a dog tag posted with them. It would be interesting for those with dog tags to post your VIN to see if there is a correlation between the two numbers. My guess is that there probably isn’t. What are chances that they got unloaded sequentially and tagged by the Post Office in the same order?

Anyway to share the excel I did?

I found and rescued a postal frame in great shape Is anyone looking for one. (Frame Only)

Do these frames have VINs stamped on them? Need to find it for the “registry.”

@bigwalton - what file types cab be attached -I just tried a test and .xlsx and .csv dont seem to work.

Think it can be set in "Allowed file extensions can be set in the ACP -> Options -> Attachments"

Maybe this kind of reference data would be better as a seperate page?

Yeah, I've thought that we needed to put it up as a post in a locked thread or something. We don't allow any filetype that could reasonably contain something harmful. The best thing to do currently would be to export it or screenshot it as an image file. PDF might be allowed, I'd have to check.

Sorry I didn't see this reply sooner @Mancunian
