I’d say that it was like holding a workshop at the event, like people pay extra for at trade shows.

Hey, Its not a dump idea if it works 8-)

The best was when one of the guys next to us with the dirt bikes came over to ask for a 9/16 wrench and stopped mid sentence with the response, " Holly shit!"
That is priceless!

Just seeing this over coffee this morning and in my humble opinion this group of guys with brown liquid together on a beach fixing my Scrambler would be Valhalla! Seems like the ultimate shop location too as long as there's sunscreen (and parts?) available lol.

The brown liquor was the night before when we spawned the idea. And sand and an open engine block isn’t ultimate at all :rotfl:

I’m sure there’s some still in there.

Update on this: timing with Sam's house build (and therefore garage completion) looks like it's going to put it into June or July before I can get my hands on the engine.

So... that beach swap at Sandblast is looking more reasonable.

Ok, now that we're past Sandblast I turn my attention 100% to this swap. I'll be getting the stroker sometime in the next couple months. Once it wasn't going to be reasonable to get it done for Sandblast I told Sam not to worry about it at all. He's been working in Boston during the week every week and commuting home for the weekends, so I didn't want him to worry about anything with the engine, he had plenty else going on.

I went down the Holley Terminator X rabbit hole last night, which started at the campfire with @Jeeperdd who said his buddy Eli of Elifixesjeeps went off to Holley University to learn how to program these systems specifically to be able to use them to swap 4.0s in CJs. So I've reached out to Eli about the upcoming plan and now it's time to get serious.

Current big question is that in one of his videos it sounded like there's a dual-sync distributor setup that works with the TX to get both crank and cam signal from the dizzy, which would cure a TON of issues right there. (I saw a video where someone used an 06 4.0 dizzy to get the cam position and was all  -- why would you EVER try to use one of the worst pieces of engine equipment ever?!?! (Look up laughing monkey if you don't know about the design flaw in the later 4.0 OPDA (oil pump drive assembly) that has the cam position sensor in it.

I'm getting STOKED to get going on this now... I just need the proper part list to start hunting bargains (not that any of it will be cheap.)

Worried because the Postal truly needs to have the body pulled and a number of things corrected. I've been putting this off for about three years past where it really needed to happen.

I think I've officially decided that I want to repair the existing body and at the rate I work and with the "while I'm in there" items, I'm looking at years of downtime. Putting this in is NOT going to help me want to take it off the road.
Best way to accomplish this and not be down a wheeling scrambler is just to buy another while you are working on this one....how do you think I ended up with so many.....

That sounds like code for it’s not a Jeep. It’s a Stellantis.
