Quonset building project (40' x 56')

Still slowly plugging away on my pallet racking.
24 horizontal members cleaned and painted.

Picked up a used culvert pipe (good shape) 12" x 24'
This will be attached to existing culvert, should make backing the big trailers into the 'Q' a bit easier!

To say we are pretty excited about this is an understatement!
Will mainly be used to store vehicles but I'm sure the occasional short term small project may end up on it.
Don't plan on anchoring it to the the floor as we like flexibility of being able to move it (has caster wheel kit) to different locations in the Q.

Hmmmmm, wonder what this could mean?

Unfortunately we are not adding on to the Q.
I acquired another 28' semi box trailer for storage.
This will be the landing pad for it plus room for another 2 or 3 of the same size.
Bonus, the axle and dolly already removed. Luckily I have a buddy that runs a tow service and will move with his rollback truck.

Finally got my buddy with his rollback over to move the trailer.

Was quite the load!

The location we moved from had the open end just opposite of what we needed.
Once on site, had to unload in the alley and then come in from the other and reload for proper positioning.

Finally resting spot.

Room for 3 maybe 4 more.

Picked up this cool antique back back at a local auction a few weeks back.
As it sat at auction location.

You know your real friends when you go to move something this large and heavy.
16" deep, 8' long and just shy of 10' tall. Wish I had thought to run across the grain elevator scales to see the weight, but forgot.
Loading on the trailer went better than expected.

Unloading it to the Q was still a challenge but much easier with the skid steer.

All reassembled and in it's final (for now) resting spot. Noticed that the mirror is defiantly nice to use while backing the Volvo in.

This one was out of my league price & size wise. But man was in something!
Rumor was these came off river boats from back east somewhere.

Curious what your winning bid was and the winning bid for that monster?

Got these 2 kinda running enough and backed them in to the box trailer.
Kinda sketchy though, scrambler hydraulic clutch frozen, CJ7 basically no brakes.
But they are out of the weather now, LOL

You can make yours even better than this one. It’s a little hard to see here. IMG_6277.jpeg
