If you are not buying, you have a link. Looked an didn’t find
Posting has been deleted. I also saw a front bumper listed in Roanoke Va. For 100 bucks. Poster wasn't sure what they have. Couldn't tell by photos, but very similar, if not one

Today I made the cross tubes that support the tonneau cover. Had old copper 3/4" tubing that was easy to shape. My neighbor has some rollers that put the crown in the tubes in a couple minutes. I put the end in my vice, tightened it up, and bent it over. Matched it up to an original I have, marked it, and bent the other end. A little silver hammertone paint and they look like the original. EMT tubing for electrical works if you don't have any copper laying around.

Yesterday, helped a group of guys work on one of our Jeep Club's member's YJ rig. He is fighting cancer so it was a flash mob surprise kind of thing. He was happy with the progress when he returned home late that night. Pulled roll cage out to sand and paint, removed crushed windshield frame, repaired dents/cowl damage for new windshield frame, replaced idler pulley, pulled tube fenders, cut rockers and floors out and installed Motobilt boat side thingys, installed Motobilt side armor and rear armor, pulled under dash AC and dash and reinstalled to repair cowl, and other stuff. Long day/night, but felt great to try to help out!!

Today, pulled the old engine off the Dr brush mower. Need to install a new diff lock cable, and my PTO cable is looking rough so I need to change it, too, while engine is out and it is easier to get to.

Pretty new engine:

See if they will let you “test drive“ it for a weekend, I’ll bet you could do an engine swap in your JT in a weekend.

If the price on those were $20k cheaper I would have one of them instead of my 4xe.

Where’s the best place for DR mower parts?
Thx
For the engine, I bought it at a local small engine/lawn mower shop. Could not find the exact 20hp engine, new engine is 22hp. The technician there said it was same engine as old, different carburetor. He made sure the replacement engine had same shaft size and the higher capacity charging system for the electric clutch. He bought engine from a whole sale company, $1250 vs $1800.

Filters, plugs, oil, etc are regular small engine parts available almost anywhere. I bought a new voltage regulator off Amazon a year or so ago, new battery from NAPA. The two new control cables that I needed I bought off eBay.

For hard parts, the Dr website is your best bet. When I bought the machine back in 2014, the company was 100% US based. Now, most calls/emails/chats go over seas. I hate it, so I try to find parts everywhere except Dr direct, unless I have no choice.

Since I bought the machine new, I still have all the paperwork it came with, including the exploded parts diagrams with part numbers. This makes it easy to find/order parts. If you don't have the manual, find your serial number, go to Dr site or call them, and get the manual.

Besides the engine blowing up, more of a Briggs and Stratton issue, the machine has been reliable. I worked the crap out of it, no complaints. Almost 10 years of use/abuse, only now changing some control cables. One battery, voltage regulator, lots of oil/filters/plugs, it has been a great machine, paid for itself with the work it accomplished.

I won't test drive a 392 because I know I would buy it right then and there. The gas bills would suck, but life is short :twocents:

Rumors are, ‘24 is the last year for all V8s in Stellantis vehicles. But then again rumor was ‘23 would be the last year of the 392 & hellcat engines.

Replacement is the turbo I-6 engines.

I've kind of half assed been paying attention to that issue. About 50/50 on getting a 392. I really do not want 35's and 4.56 gears, worse MPG then the already not great regular 33's and 3.73 gears. Unfortunately, all 2024 392's come with 35's and 4.56 gears. So, either find/buy a new on the lot '23 model, or used. Prices are also high, and Gladiator value did not hold as well as I would have liked..........

Doesn't help that the dealer 5 minutes from my house has a new '24 392 and a 15k mile used '22 392.............................:banghead:

Lucky for me, the 392 only comes automatic so I'm not tempted. That's one less thing I can obsess over thank God. Otherwise it would be all I could think about......

Worried about MPG on a 392?

Personally, I’d go with the ‘22. I have not seen a ‘24 in person, but the new screen does not do it for me in the photos.

392 trumps the stick, and I love manuals!

I have not driven a 392 because, like Raymond, I would be driving it home if I did. Good thing all the current colors are poo (imho).

If I was considering one, this is they only one on my list.

And they would have to give me affiliate pricing at the least (through my employer). And I would have to swap my SOT from my current Jeep to that one. Way too much trouble, I’ll just keep the one I have.

The local dealer has a black 2022 Extreme Recon 392, sky touch top, 15k miles. Has matt black wrap, neither here nor there for me. Certified pre owned, so better warranty than new, for $83k. Cash price 84k. IF I could roll new loan backwards into old loan at 1.5%, maybe. Unfortunately new loan looks to be 5%.

No test drive until they run your credit :rotfl:

84K. Maybe that’s why they are talking about raising minimum wage I heard the other day at $20 an hour. Starting to make sense now, after that wack to the back of my head it’s becoming clear. :rotfl:

When Australia brought in the massive minimum wage tied to CPI in 2010 or so it was great.... for about 2 years. Then costs began sky rocketing.

Never occurred to the government back then that if you pay a kid $15/hr to put milk on a shelf then milk can no longer be $5/ gallon. Funnily enough, now minimum wage is nearly $25/hr and folks still can't buy anything more than they could before it was so high. Economics are a funny thing.

If they even sold the 392 there I bet it would be close to $200,000.
