What's on your Work Bench?

That brings back a lot of memories for me. I learned to drive one of those at about 5 years old. I would be standing on the clutch and shifting into 1st and easing off the clutch and working the hand throttle while my dad was on a trailer behind tossing hay to the cattle while my older sister and brother were off to school. That was during winter in the snow.

Been working on the grab bars and wheels Eric found for me on his coast to coast trip. One box arrived and another is on the way. Of the 20 grab bars, I've sand blasted 17 of them, sanded the edges, put filler on the flat face and sanded ready for more primer. The flats on the bars are always rippled from the stamping (some more than others) and I like them to be nice and flat. And where they sheer the ends off they are always sharp so I sand them so they won't grab the cloth when you wipe them off. Cleaned up 5 of the 7 wheels Eric sent and covered one Laredo wheel in Black. You can see my stock of wheels, both ready to cover and the covered ones. Just when I was down to my last Laredo wheel, Eric comes through with a bunch of them. thanks again Eric.

It’s not actually on the bench, but my Scrambler went under the knife today. I started pulling it apart to swap the engine. New engine is on the stand.
Pics or it didn't happen!!! :D :needpic:

Wow KIm it is awesome to see details on what you do on here…i had no idea you take care of the edges and do so much work on the metal part of the grab bars! I had a good time tomb raiding 3 large collections of Jeep parts in 3 states for those two shipments, CA, NV and UT. I still do a lot of road tripping and still am up to my ears in CJs…nothing has changed 😜

Every time I see this thread pop ip in my “New Posts” I remember that I have an 8274 on my workbench waiting for me. Using my winch on the trails yesterday gave me some inspiration to start breaking that one down and getting off of my butt.

You are not alone. I have had one on my workbench for a couple of years now. I have all the parts that I need, as well as new cable . I Need to get off my butt and get it done as well. My Jeep is waiting patiently.
