Put them on and they fit! Let's just hope I'm not overlooking anything.

Here's the modified NT axle

And the new long right side axle

I just fit the snap ring to see that all was ok.

I haven't shown the engine yet. What I did was steam clean it, paint stripper, steam clean again, wipe with acetone, self etch prime and paint the stock 4.2. The more and more I think about it the more I want to do the 4.0 head swap but for the time being a MC2100/1.08 Venturi will have to do.

Here's the pig before

Been getting a little bit more done. I was able to taper the holes for the drag link and tie rod ends. I then measured the center to center distance on the old so that it would get me real close on my new replacements.

Here's a close up of what's going on

I got those done and then had to modify the sway bar links. Here's the old 3/8" dial round stock shown next to the new links

fad85c5edb805c1a21234bb16d7b7024-1.jpg

In researching the required length I referenced in my opinion, the ultimate build thread, keith460 over on jeeps unlimited. Here's the link to it.
http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/showthread.php?t=434226

With my using DOM tube I think I'm going to have to elongate them just a bit further than what is referenced in that link due to interference between the steering linkage and the vertical link.

Then the mail came. Bingo can sniff out Jeep parts![emoji106]

05be71fcb20ed57066be936665e6b7c7-1.jpg

It was a box of decals to be revealed later and copper nickle 3/16" line. I got it off ebay, $30 shipped. Man is this stuff nice to work with! I'm using it to replace the SS lines the PO put on it. The best thing is that I can retain the SS gravel guard and install it over my new lines. I had all of an hour wrapped up in the proportioning valve to both front hoses and to the rear hose.

I've got to wait for the phone to sync with my ipad so thats as far as I can go right now. Thx for looking!

Nice work:cheers:

With regards to the WARN FF rear axles, here is my:twocents:

1) My red Scrambler with an Ox Locker, the lock in hubs work fine/perfect, no issues:twocents:

2) My Tan Scrambler with a Detroit Locker, the lock in hubs did not work too good. They would leak, PIA to lock/unlock, and the extra lash from the lock in hubs coupled with the Detroit lockers lash made for a bangy ride. I am much happier with drive flanges installed instead of the lock in hubs:twocents:

Glad to know Moser can make the axles, I might get some spare shafts made, just in case:cheers:

Ok guys here's a quick post to get you guys updated as to where I am in this process. I've finally sorted the cross over hy steer and it's interfering with the sway bar links. I had to lengthen them to a 9" rod length to keep things clear of each other.

f2d7a38bcdad7dca324fab9a3d14a9e3-1.jpg

The other thing I had to do was to halve the jam nuts on the center link. I couldn't get the front and rear of the tires to square up with one another so if you're contemplating using my measurement use 3/8" less if you plan on using the thick jam nuts.

071aae7277dd1b286067887d1be8636d-1.jpg

And the tires are square and the steering doesn't foul the sway bar.

I also got the trans in and mounted. Man is that skid plate something else or what. I remembered reading that Spanks had an alignment issue or two with his as well. After looking at his thread I knew what I had to do. The plate still hangs out 3/4"-1" on each side but hey, that's how his is[emoji2].

Here's the drivers side

And the passenger side

a3ca94984aeef3c4fd4fb6234d3a6955-1.jpg

Here's the trans in and bolted down tight. I still have to figure out the up and down to the torque arm bushing.

If you flip your sway bar end over I think you'll gain some clearance. Looks to be installed opposite the way I had mine.

Agreed, I run mine the other way and the "swoop up" vs. the "swoop down" gives you a bit more room.

If I had known that you made such gorgeous drag link/tie rods I would have never bought the HD one and just had you make me one.

I really like the Tractor Supply paint too. It goes on thicker and has a high gloss and seems to have 3x as much paint in a can. The only draw back I see is that its takes about 24 hours to dry good. I'm considering buying a gallon and spraying my frame with it.

I got a gallon and some hardener to do the axles I'm swapping into the tan CJ-7. Did the front a few weeks ago, and it does take FOREVER to dry, but it seems to dry rock hard and it sure is pretty!

Pulled the rear out of the shop over the weekend. Got to paint it and the springs and then the swap.

Ok. So here's what Ford Ingot Silver looks like. I got the dash back and will start to get a few more body parts streaming in over the next several weeks

Here's a little sandblasting on the spare tire carrier. Let's call them still action shots. The PO painted it with what appears to be an epoxy primer and who knows what for a top coat. The primer is as tough as a Waffle House steak! If you are even thinking of where to spend you money on equipment for your shop/garage my money would be on a blast cabinet and an air compressor. Spend the money and get one bigger than you think you'll ever need

I have one of their blast cabinets and a sand blaster from them. Sand blaster is great. Cabinet, IDK. I bought it over 15 years ago, put it in my basement and never used it. At least I have used my 15 year old plasma cutter on 2 occasions.

That's the perfect example of having the right tools when and if you need them. I've also got the soda blast attachment and it's pretty handy as well.

Well, progress has been slow and other things have come up. We've all been there. Got the spare tire carrier blasted and painted along with some fender support brackets I picked up from ChopShop on here. What a trip he is, I really like talking jeeps with that guy!

The next is from my D300 that I'm freshening up.

b71ce3a44ef704c1266d8deab6b83887-1.jpg

I'm supposed to/planning on picking up the majority of my panels minus my tub this weekend from my painter. I've been reading other posts here of those that are dissatisfied with their guys. I'm not in any hurry to get this done and my guys busy full time and I just let him go at his pace and all will be well.

I've got the t case to assemble, install the drive shafts, fill trans, t case, both axles with fluid, install rear caliper brackets and calipers, finish hard lines for brakes and fuel. If I get my doors back I can assemble them too, I've got both full and half. I need to look for a pair of TJ black uppers on the CL too.
Next comes the tire purchase.......I'm 90% on the 33-10.50 BFG TAs

That's plenty for now but I'm glad to be back in the game and feel revived to complete this project.
