My donor Cherokee arrived today. For $250 plus delivery on a tilt tray I got:
Rear springs, 5 leaf plus helper
Hand brake cables
Chassis from which I'll remove a section near the tank
4 original wagon wheels to blast and Powdercoat black satin
2 brand new wrangler 31" x 10.5 Tyres
360 engine mounts
Exhaust 2.5" and brackets
Numerous good shape Cherokee GW parts to sell over time including the full set of usable trims for the woodside.
Pretty happy with all that
PLUS I have approval in theory to put the 360 in the truck. I do need an engineers endorsement though

I like how you call em "tilt trays" over there. We call em "rollbacks" here. Tilt tray is a bit more accurate :)

Rollback with rear "wheel lift"

My heart skipped a beat or two when I saw the Overlander on the tilt tray!

Rollbacks are what happens when you let someone have a mouthful of you stubby (beer) and it's foamier than it was when you gave it to them. Also known as backwash. Ick

We call that , "split" !

The owner Got a little time in one V6/4L60E conversion this week. Got the drivetrain into the frame to see where the mounts would end up

Using the transfer case in its original position for drive shafts and gear stick location. Crossed our fingers and dropped the tub on. I thought we would have gone close to the EGR valve and the trans dipstick but guess what?

The Locar shifter looks good. The original engine mount plan was to incorporate the stock Commodore (donor car) mounts but they are huge so we'll be going with some round, vertical axis ones from Advance.
Due to time restraints, too much real work for the owner and for me the tub will be shopped out along with all the Classic Enterprises bits, lovingly autographed by the fabricators to get done

Beautiful!

Got a question, a few posts back you mentioned "engineers endorsement" for the 360 swap. Is this an official thing from the motor vehicle department? If so, is it because of smog or other reason?

Yeah well we don't get to do much to our vehicles here without the blessing of the overlords. I have approval in principal but I do need engineers certification. That is that brakes, suspension, engine mounts etc can handle the MASSIVE increase in power and torque I will get when the 360 goes in. Pfffft. Our emissions control gear all needs to be in place and working as per the requirements at the time of manufacture of the vehicle. I want to put my 79 360 into my 84 truck so my engine has to include all the million pipes and wot not that were on the later engine. That's where this

comes in. It's an 83 so will have all of what I need. Hopefully.

Ugh. Sounds like California. One of the reasons I left for "greener pastures".

2, proofread and cleared by the NSA.

Just thought I'd share this with the world

Pretty sure I have the only CJ bonnet in the world without rust under the hinges. :bacondance:

Hey folks I need your help. I'm trying to get a full rebuild gasket kit for the 360. Having more trouble than I thought I would. Can someone point me in the right direction please? Tried summit Morris and qtec. Not a full kit any where there

Some of the parts houses (Auto Zone comes to mind) carry Felpro and you can get the full set but you'll need to order the intake and exhaust flanges separately. Hopefully they ship overseas. If not, I'm sure BJ's could hook you up.
