Which fuel filter are you using? Does it have a return line? Some fuel filters have an internal pressure regulator that can return to the tank. I would check there or bypass the filter and check the PSI at the rail before dropping the tank. What PSI does the Ford EFI require?

I am using the fuel filter for a 95gt. There is a separate return line that does not go thru the filter. I also made sure the pump has a full 12volts. I did pull the line from the pump to the filter off and ran the pump. But I can try bypassing the filter altogether.

I was having a similar issue, turned out to be a kink in the line on top of the tank.

@ag4ever thst reminds me…. On this Jeep we had the same issue after installing new rubber lines. Tank to body clearance is tight with that 20 gallon tank. Good place to check. I would also pull the return line to see if you have good volume coming out. That said, if you have a good stream I would check the ford fuel pressure regulator.

Thanks for the help, I dropped the tank but kept the lines intact. I ran the pump and it still was at 7 PSI. There were no kinks in the lines so I decided to replace it with the Mustang pump. I hardwired it first and check the pressure and it climbed over 30. I hit the key, and Rusty lives again. Finally some Satisfaction.

Yes, I got it to run in the beginning of the month but I have been chasing other gremlins ever since, Tonight I finally solved them. Basically the serpentine belt kept jumping off. I thought it was the smog pump. The front accessory drive is all from a 91 f150. But the power steering pump bracket is from an E150, because they came with the much better Saginaw pump. The smog pump is from a 95 Mustang GT. I took the smog pulley on and off several times added washers remove washers. I even went to the junkyard again and spent the day pulling parts off another F-150 just to make sure there were no spacers or anything else I was missing. I finally figured out that when I changed out the Saginaw pump I did not push the pulley all the way to the pump and that caused the misalignment. Wanted to send pictures of the completed job of adding a 95 Mustang Cobra engine with full emissions that are required here in Colorado. I will do a full write up later on this swap.

Ford Contour fan install as well. Relays are already built into the 1995 harness for the fuel pump and hi and low fans. .

Finally the hood is closed. On to wiring the Speed hut gauges and running the rest of the exhaust. The 4 catalytic converters are already bolted in. The engine sounds amazing already but I am going with some Walker stainless steel quiet mufflers.

Thanks bigwalton. When I purchased the Jeep, the heater that was in it was full of mud divers and acorns lots of acorns. Now that I have the heater box rebuilt, I don't understand how the defrost would work if I were to put the plastic covers over the oval holes. Are they supposed to be covered? If so how does the defrost work? This is a pic of the windshield 1/2 down.

I love the 5.0 in the Jeep, and I painted a few orange cars in my day. . .good color. The oval plastic goes on the windshield and you should have long slots in your windshield frame just before the glass, and plastic directional pieces mount over them. Unless your windshield frame came from a Wrangler, it will have holes above the ones in your body and the heat will travel into your windshield frame and then out the directional defroster parts. I'm not sure if the heat warms up the frame to keep it from rusting, or if the frame cools down the air, or both. But that's how it works.

Its not the greatest photo so you may not be able to tell very well but as @Kim Dawson says you should have a series of slots in the windshield frame on the edge just next to the glass seal.
Then some plastic vent covers as shown in the photo sat over those to deflect the air on to the screen. If you have an aftermarket frame i have found they dont always cut the slots out, you have to do it yourself.

I know the steering wheel is on the wrong side but windshields are the same

Any trick in getting these plastic reproduction covers on like putting them in boiling water?

I figured out if I used a heat gun on those plastic covers I was able to snap them in. Another question I have is how to install the sun visors with the Best Top super top brackets. Seems to me that there's got to be something wrong. Bracket for the windshield covers the holes for the sun visors. Should I relocate the brackets to make this work or can I cut the bracket?

I had that with mine as well. I don't run visors due to my roll cage. Not sure why that bracket is so wide. You could just trim the bracket off closer to the most inboard screw.

I suggest looking up the recent threads on the Bes(wors)Top installation. Unless it is an old version before they offshored production (technically south of the border, not offshore) you might have a multitude of install issues. This bracket being a big one of the problems.

Gentleman, I like to introduce you to the new and improved, Rusty. We made a maiden voyage out of the garage and it was surreal. I wish you guys would have told me how awesome these Jeeps are, I would have worked twice as hard for that experience. She is dusty, the windshield I couldn't see out of during the ride, I may be celebrating with a few too many IPA's, but oh man, it was awesome.
