The approvals are released and I'm getting promoted...

...to Mr.

After 24 plus years in the Air Force I've decided to change my uniform to civilian clothes. It was a hard decision to make especially since the AF wanted to send me to Ramstein AFB, Germany. My bosses were a little disappointed because they thought I actually would be promoted to Colonel, but I will be retiring as a Lt Col before I even meet my board. It is the right decision for my family and me as well. I have been honored to serve this great nation in uniform and now it is time for me to step aside and let others take my place.

For those interested. My retirement date will be 1 Nov 2010. My retirement ceremony has yet to be finalized, but will most likely be late July.

Now, for more important things....who has a job for me, because I still have a mortgage and jeep habit to pay for.

Ceremony 23 Jul...see second page of thread. More importantly, party is Sat 24 Jul 1600 at my place. again see link in second page of thread.

Sell the house in Manassas, move to the middle of nowhere, and drive your Jeep everyday! The heck with the mortgage and working....

Please shoot me a PM.

Thanks & Congradulations

Way to go Truck! A big thanks for your service. Sounds like we could have a retirement party at the Nationals.

Thanks for your years of service truck! Great news and hopefully you'll have a lot more family and Jeep time now

Thank you for your service, and congratulations and best of luck in your new direction!

Congratulations on joining the ranks of us retired guys! (at least for a little while anyways) :) And thanks for all your years of service!

He can't move, haven't you seen his KILLER shop?! I wish I had that shop!

Huge thanks for your service and a big congratulations on the retirement.

It shouldn't be that hard with veteran's preference to pick up a civil service job in your area. But hopefully, you can afford to take about 6 months off before going back to the grinding stone.

Congrats, Truck! If you don't move out to the middle of the sticks as mentioned above, you will probably be re-hired by the military or a military sub-contractor as a consultant doing the same thing you are now at twice the wage.;)

congrats..

congrats truck.. and thank you for your service...

I've got some work for you.... come on down...

Congrats Truck!!

I think you have enough work around the house to keep you busy for a few years...too bad it doesn't pay.

Congratulations! You gonna tell us that with all of those rides you've got, there isn't one big enough for you to live in?
My company is always hiring, however, you would need to move either up to Jersey, or down to Dallas.

Congrats Truck! I also want to thank you for your service. As far as retirement goes, I've tried to do that a couple of times but always seem to find something I think I can do better and keep re-entering the market. Good luck and enjoy your new "civie" life.

Congrats on your retirement. I pulled chocks after 20 years and retired here at Maxwell last year. It was the best decision I made and it has shown in my stress level, happiness, etc. Of course I went back to work for the AF, but it is a totally different feeling. Good luck!

Thank you...

Congratulations and thanks for helping to keep us all safe and happy! Good luck on the job and keep on Scrambling.

Thanks for your service to our GREAT country! i'm gonna miss all the cool stuff you bring back for your trips overseas(scrambler patches)....You could always rent the house out and move into you shop and drive that big truck you bought for a living! Sounds like a plan. Is the Air force gonna make it without you?
