Well, hello again everyone - its been YEARS since I've been to the site and I can't believe that many of the names are the same. I was one of the original SOA members (charter members I think we were called). My scrambler, which I rebuilt out of college in '97 was my daily driver for over a decade until my boys got old enough that we needed more room for car seats, 4 doors, etc. and I added the first of two JK's (one of which I currently drive). That's when the scrambler got parked (2009-ish) and has been for the most part every since. My boys loved riding in it as toddlers and started calling it Jeepie. My amazing wife let me keep it all these years to someday rebuild with my boys for them to drive. Well, my oldest is now 13.5 and his brother turning 12 and given how long these things take, that time is pretty much now. Also time to get back into SOA, involved here, etc. Should be fun!

Hope everyone has been well and I look forward to reconnecting.

Joe

I guess it's about time for me to post...Live in N. Idaho and bought an 82 Scrambler a few years ago. Slowly upgrading/rebuilding and have years ($$$$) of work to do, I also have a 70's/80's Helder welding Packmule trailer that I've also spent time ($$$$) working on. I owned an 84 CJ-7 years ago and sold it before moving to ID. Bad mistake. Anyway, I've always wanted a Scrambler and now I have one.

Never introduced myself here. Jeremy Tepper from Vail, AZ (essentially Tucson). Been into Jeeps since 1999 when my best bud from the Marine Corps took me wheeling in his 79 CJ5 Renegade. Got hooked. Bought my first Jeep in 2005 after I got out of the Marines and owned probably 5 or 6 from 2005-2013. Got into the serious collector stuff around 2014 or so and learned a ton about them over the past 5 years. Still no expert and learning everyday. I just have a huge passion for them now.

Currently own 5 CJ8s and 11 or 12 CJ7s. Owned upward of 20 CJ8s over the years that have come and gone.

I'll post photos of my current CJ8s.

Here's some I have handy. Need to organize my photos on my phone and make albums to find them easier.

Love that Golden Eagle!

Are those all drivers, or do you restore and warehouse them?

Brand new to this forum.

A little about me...

I am a Toyota Land Cruiser guy that grew up driving his father's white 1981 Jeep Scrambler through the Mojave desert in CA. When my father sold that truck, I was hurt, angry, and flabbergasted that he would sell something so COOOL! Having gone through 3 transmissions in the same amount of years, he was looking for daily driver that was reliable. He purchased a Nissan Hardbody style pickup truck. Our relationship was never the same. JK.

While my son, second child - Mitch, was in the Army stationed up in the Pacific NW, he became the owner of a black 1981 Scrambler. The original owner just wanted the Jeep out of their garage and Mitch had told them about my father's Jeep. He was able to get the engine running and drove it from Seattle to Boise... after which telling me that the tires were OVER 20 YEARS OLD!!! I about beat him, but instead purchased a full set of BFG AT KO2s for the truck. He then drove it back. This was back in 2016, I think.

Now, the Scrambler sits in MY garage (back in Boise), with the original engine having been completely re-built and still not re-installed, the wiring having been pulled, and the rest of the truck spread out across my garage. I have purchased the following: Painless full wiring harness set, with connectors, Painless grounding strap set, Holley Sniper EFI carburetor with fuel pump, filter, and all new lines, new windshield wiper assembly, new motor mounts, new body mounts, and new fender flares. I still can't find the rear bumper end caps.

I'd show you a pic, but can't find the ones he sent me when he first became the Owner... stupid phone. I really do need to sort through the years of photos on that thing.

Hi! Moved to Tx last year and inmediately started searching for a CJ8, my first car (my dad´s) was a 77 beat up Cj5, always saw the Scramblers on magazines and drive by and said one day I would get one... I got this last year... long wait finally here.. sharing with my 10yr old now... up in plans to do some more mods to improve handling and braking... nothing extreme.....
